Wow. This shouldn't be anything but a remote cliché of the past by now. But no. If you ask deepl to translate from English to German, it will still eliminate all and any genders except male from the text (think "scientist").

Do any of those hyped LLMs happen to do any better on this? Have seen surprisingly little commentary on this in case it continues to be a problem with those too.
