@trumpet please stop blocking threads so that I can follow and boost @POTUS
This policy of blocking entire instances simply because you don't like who runs them is silly and detrimental to the Fediverse not to mention our democracy.
@dragestil wanted to follow you on mastodon.social, but it seems they have blocked you or your instance.
The Fediverse is so ridiculously toxic. I've been kicked off like three different instances for things as silly as saying that Neil DeGrasse Tyson is my spirit animal, and blocking people who use the n-word.
I hate it here so much I try to think of ways to undermine it...
@dragestil I want to build an ActivityPub implementation that's so simple to set up that it will lead to an inundation of instances that admins can't possibly hope to moderate.
Something like an AWS SAM template that automatically provisions a serverless instance on a new domain.
I'm not rich, but I don't spend more than I earn in interest on my Bitcoin, so I'm having a hard time motivating myself to look for a job. I've been a web developer for about 25 years, and though I like the work, I can't stand the people. They are ego-maniacal, bad at communication, and humorless in general. There are exceptions, but they get cowed by louder more aggressive ones. "So contract" I hear you say; but here's the weird thing; I actually like working with people.
@CWSmith my assumption is they use the paralax effect in video to infer depth. It's not flawless, and there are quirks. It doesn't work very well at all with moving subjects for example.
@CWSmith I think my favorite part is the sound honestly, it takes a few seconds to spin around in place capturing the shot and you kinda hold your breath and let it capture the ambient sounds while you're doing it
@MelodyWainscott depends, some reply-guying is fueled by loneliness and lack of social skills. Those I tend to humor a little, especially if they are followers. But people who aggressively disagree with strangers get dunked and blocked immediately. That's some Twitter-ass behavior.
