A while ago, but finally made some time for a quick tour round where I live. A combination of safari and nice pittoreske villages at the water :-) So much to see, even though weather was not super.

are good for mental health, at least for me.

Meh, #mastoadmin holiday update mistakes story time.

Update my machine running Mastodon. Checked that all docker containers came up again. All looks fine -> Continue holiday.

One day later notice last post on Mastodon (single user instance) was a day ago. :) Found out that some apt update installed Nginx, prevented #traefik to startup after boot because of port 80 and no traffic was getting into the server...

Lesson: check not only container states but also verify traffic. N00b mistake.

Deliveries are catching up again. I should be able to keep this thing up once every seven days worst case also.

Cool how resilient it’s built. Federated architecture is awesome. :-)

@bodomenke @koehntopp Very similar for me in home automation 2023. Was not super interested in Shelly before, and Hue were just expensive bulbs. Now fully on Hue bridge and replaced all switches and sensors with Hue. Works great so far. :-)

Guess 2024 will see me replace the hue bridge because of the authentication stuff they want to introduce.

@bodomenke @koehntopp The thing that you neer an account I read about a while ago. It’s also a banner in the app. Not sure what the result of the “movement against this” is and if I can keep using my bridge locally without registering thought. Haven’t had time or energy to read up on that.

@electrek Now we’re talking Honda. If you fix the drivetrain, battery tech and software. :-) Good to see some progress or plans from my previously favorite carmaker.

Ok, happy with the #steamdeck I bought for traveling so far. However, now I actually travel and I was unpleasantly surprised when I took out the deck in the plane. My fav games #rdr2 and #thedivision2 both won’t start when offline. I was only able to play #Dirt5 actually.

Anyone using the deck for travel with tips? The other game, #DCS steam edition I can’t even start.

Am I missing something or is the deck pretty useless without Internet connectivity?

@soheb Ah interesting. Can try this in hotspot mode in the hotel, then pit it in offline mode and restart the game indeed. It’s a big game so perfect for spending time in the plane. Thanks for the tip, will try.
