Gestern wieder gewaltsame #Bauernproteste in #Brüssel, Polizei lässt gewähren. Und obwohl dort auch gefordert wurde, Umweltstandards nicht abzubauen, sondern die Transformation zu fördern und Mercosur abzulehnen, reagiert die Politik (Kommission, Agrarrat, EP steht noch aus) damit, die Natur-Konditionalitäten (GLÖZ) der Flatrate-Agrarsubventionen abzuschaffen. Gibt's in keinem anderen Sektor. Landnutzung damit gegen Paris- und Montreal Abkommen, vom Steuerzahler gefördert!

#CrossBorderRail challenge: not sure what's going on on the Balkan re in Greece, but I am having troubles to find any connections from #Athens (or take Thessaloniki directly) to Rijeka (or again just take #Zagreb). Would love to do that journey over 3 days after Easter to see a bit of the countries, if needed even with a short stretch by bus if there's no train. The common sites provide no help (rome2rio, rail.cc, googlemaps), are all #trains gone? Quite annoying... cc @jon

Breaking: 1 year after #Kunming, Ursula @vonderleyen wants to lower the protection status of the #wolf in the #BernConvention then Habitats Directive. This is an obvious Xmas gift to agri lobby + EPP. The @EU_Commission doesn't back the decision with data. And btw., the decision does not make life easier for farmers!

Noone else having strange feelings about who all is flying to the #COP28? I mean, so many most likely have non-contribution to the in any case insufficient results. Then, showing-up is fostering the fossil COP governance re legitimazing the scandalous host country & lobby. And emitting CO2 etc. by flying is seen rather uncritically!
