When reading about the aroma and flavor of beer, specific compounds or processes are named that are responsible for hop aroma, fermentation by-products and all kinds of aging effects. For off-flavors idem. For the typical malt derived flavor, though, this is rarely seen. Why?

#invictusBrewing Tyrannosaurus Press pastry stout! Smooth and rich with chocolate and coffee, not so much cookie flavor but an enjoyable pastry.

2021 Bourbon County has aged well, full-bodied with beautiful mellow bourbon and vanilla notes and a sweet brown sugar finish. Decadent!

Another entry in the vanilla theme but not a stout.

#lexingtonBrewing Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale is a lighter choice to pair with grilled brats on another 40 degree day in MN pseudo-winter.

Lightly sweet and creamy with a nice vanilla and almost honey-like finish.

So happy to finally try #revolutionBrewing Deth series! Continuing a vanilla theme, it’s Vanilla Deth imperial stout.

Turns out this is a 2021 can - it’s aged well with a vanilla malty nose and a smooth body. Vanilla caramel with a little kick on the finish to remind you it’s 13.6% ABV.
