I am still loving Doctor Who.
Though the last couple of minutes of this episode was a punch in the gut. Great episode! And more relevant to current events than ever.

Perhaps Space Mastodon can help me.

The image below is from Artificial Satellites of the Earth (1958)

I have a memory of seeing that image back in the 1960s, but I'm pretty sure I saw it in color. But the various image search engines are coming up empty.

Does any one else know where I can find the color version?

I must have weird taste in scifi movies.
I just watched Atlas and thought it was pretty good.

But I thought Rebel Moon stank on ice.

Go figure.

This is an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of.

This search engine isn't particularly well equipped to answering queries posed like questions, instead try to imagine some text that might appear in the website you are looking for, and search for that.

Where this search engine really shines is finding small, old and obscure websites about some given topic

New book on worldbuilding.

Author says: "Architect of Worlds is what happens when the guy who wrote three different solar system/planetary generation systems for GURPS is told he doesn't have a word count and spends 7 years tracking every paper on exoplanet systems he can find."

[ I have a copy and am impressed by the detail. More importantly author includes citations of original scientific papers ]

From https://x.com/beanhowitzer at the hell-site.

Little thing says it likes Space War.
Audience thinks it means cheesy fake-ass space-opera space-war crap.
What time really means is hard-science-fiction scientifically-accurate space war.

Well, my smartphone just screamed at me. It informed me that at 5:00 EST the army Corp of engineers will be using explosive cutting charges to slice up the part of the collapsed Francis Key Bridge which is currently draped over the cargo ship.

They said anybody within 2,000 feet should either wear hearing protection or hide inside a house.

I will comply...

Well this is embarrassing.

I've never been a fan of Doctor Who, since is only marginally science fiction. But I just watched the first two episodes of Series 14, and I rather enjoyed them.

[1] I personally like scifi that if it cannot be scientifically accurate, is at least internally self consistent. E.g. the history of baby station.

[2] I am fond of movies and shows where the characters are nonplussed by absurd things that go shambling by. E.g. the goblin ship.
