Saw a super clever use of the new Lock Screen action in #Shortcuts and linked to it on my blog: https://matthewcassinelli.com/apple-shortcuts-iphone-automation-protect-stolen-unlocked/

If your phone gets stolen while unlocked (while in-use in a public place, for example) this automation waits for a thief to toggle Airplane Mode to deactivate Find My.

Once they do, Airplane Mode is toggle back off, Low Power Mode is enabled, and it sends out your location – and locks the screen so your password is required again.

Very specific, but very effective 👌

One massive thing Threads got right is notifications for reposting.

On Twitter, it was great to see that sharing someone’s post had an impact. I try to do the same thing on Mastodon, but it’s never clear whether resharing has any effect.

Notifications build the network effect and, yes, do act as a simple motivator.

Incentives matter.
