I have seen that the lemmy.ml mods will openly ban discussion about the CCP. I am wondering if the sh.itjust.works team allows criticism of government bodies, while still banning racism.
Obviously, they don't have to slide into the cozy genre. But what books do you cuddle up with during a thunderstorm, or your variable weather of choice? Personally, Becky Chambers has become one of my favorites. I also read LOTR when I need a "good guys doing the right thing just because it's the right thing to do".
Seems to be working well for me on Jerboa. I too have experienced it loading different content randomly upon refresh when using the website. Usually refreshing again fixes it.
I am a software developer by craft and a linux system admin by hobby. I cannot commit to moderating and managing my own instance, but I would be glad to help someone with the technical aspects....
This is interesteing. I wonder if it is because those are very common jokes that appear over and over on the internet. Or if it is because chatgpt chooses them as preference.

I've been working on a proxy that makes it possible for 3rd party Reddit apps to connect to Lemmy with minimal code changes. Ideally all that's needed is to swap out the url for that of the proxy. Naturally it's open source....
My experience with the Fediverse has only been through Mastodon, through which I struggled to find a community I really gelled with. Either it was supper overwhelming with meme posts or NSFW, or it was too chill to the point of nothing. Or, it was hyperfocused like FOSS/Linux and became uninteresting after awhile.
