gears replaced ✌️
2nd hand locomotive now running smoothly 😎

this involved sooo much delicate work !

I had to disassemble all the trucks to replace the wheels, pull out each and every tiny gear to inspect them (turns out 5 were fucked lol, luckily could replace 4) and after all remount and resolder everything :blobsweats:

bottom of said miniature train locomotive without the gear carters. the red arrows indicate the soldering points. you can see that the tiny wires are crammed in a tight space with very meltable plastic next to them

but now it works like a charm. no more stutters and getting blocked !

I'm glad I was able to do all this. still may need a better usb-c charger to go with my pinecil lol

Cause cadeaux de Noël, etc. je me suis replongé dans "Comment ça marche" du génial David Macaulay (et ses hilarants mammouths laineux, je dis ça pour vous les Mastos).
C'est toujours formidable.

Je suis très étonné qu'un bouquin qui a eu un tel succès à sa sortie (1991) ne soit plus disponible et que sa réédition complétée (The Way Things Work Now, 2016) n'ait pas eu de traduction.

"Comment ça marche" a eu une adaptation animée en 26 épisodes, diffusée sur France 5.

(en dehors d'un serveur Plex, c'est pour une machine qui n'a que 16Gb de stockage dont le tier est déjà nom-nom par mon cache réseau pour Pacman (Pacoloco))

Les mails qui se synchronisent n'importe comment, la "Boite aux lettres unifiées" qui unifie que dalle, la récupération des nouveaux mails en tâche de fond complètement erratique.
Ça dégage, pas le time pour ces âneries
