Anyone up to make a mockup for a GTK/Libadwaita frontend for this program?

https://github.com/nadermx/backgroundremover

#GNOME #GTK #GTK4 #libadwaita #Flatpak

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@CleoMenezesJr Seems easy enough, one could use a lot of code from Upscaler!

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@CleoMenezesJr I would think just like Upscaler, so a welcome page with an "Open File" button, and a view page with the image/video at the top, some settings underneath, and a "Start" button at the bottom. When "Start" is pressed, a page with a progress bar is shown. Drag-n-drop is enabled across the whole window, of course.

Just wondering: Why are so many distros jumping to support and include Waydroid by default?

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@marc0x Hey, that's probably true! I mean, we can't let Windows beat us at something, right😉️?

I released a new version of ASCII Images, now called Letterpress! I'd like to thank @bragefuglseth for coming up with the name, as well as the cool illustration!

Now that I'm changing the name of the project, I think I'll release version 0.1.0.

@CleoMenezesJr Let's go! 🎉

After talking about it with my Patreon supporters, and here on Mastodon, I decided to stop publishing to Odysee. I wrote a short blog post about the reasons, and the options people have to keep watching outside of YouTube if they want to:

https://thelinuxexp.com/Im-leaving-odysee/

It's not a decision everyone will agree with, but it's the one I'm comfortable with.

Well said!

I’m going to try out the US QWERTY keyboard layout for programming and terminal stuff going forward. If I manage to get used to it, I won’t have to do absurd finger acrobatics to type brackets, semicolons, tildes and such anymore. That would be nice

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@bragefuglseth I've been considering the same, but I do often need those ä, ö and ü. What layout have you been using up to now?

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@bragefuglseth Ooh! Nice 🧐

My first contribution, fixes for getting it building on : https://github.com/containers/bubblewrap/pull/580

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@orowith2os Does this mean Flatpaks coming to Android soon?

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@orowith2os IMO, as long as Android doesn't support Flatpaks, it's not Linux😂️

Everytime I go on Odysee, the content there seems to drift more and more towards conspiracy theories, complete disinformation and nonsense, or at worst ultra racist / xenophobic / hateful rethoric. The staff has a history of just saying amen to everything, including white supremacist stuff.

I’ve been thinking of abandoning it (I would keep PeerTube as the alternative to YouTube for people who really don’t want to use YT). Out of curiosity, a little poll about my content:

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@thelinuxEXP I used to watch your videos on Odysee, until someone convinced me to switch to Peertube, so I use that now.

I’m working on a website dedicated to ABRoot v2. And even if I’m biased .. it’s really cool.

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@mirkobrombin That's great news! It'll probably encourage other distros to use ABRoot if it doesn't look like a Vanilla OS exclusive.

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@mirkobrombin Exactly, and having it more obviously independent of Vanilla OS will make that even clearer

Sneak peek into multi-row and mobile support for Junction.

I'm not convinced we need the hearbar but we need a way to cancel on mobile.

I see 3 options:

• Use a header bar like in the screenshot
• Add a "Cancel" entry in the list of options
• Add a close button in the bottom bar

wdyt?

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@sonny A "Cancel" button in the top left (so in the header bar) sounds good to me!

I found this looking at Drawing's source code. I think everyone should do this.

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@sonny Well, Drawing is a circle app, if they can do it, everyone else should also be able to ;)

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@sonny Well, it's funny nevertheless, even if perhaps not appropriate!

Some major changes to 's Inochi Creator !

  • Aarch64 support: we now build the Flatpak from source in order to support distros like better and a wider range of devices.

  • Automatic updating: an hour or so after release, the Flatpak will update to the latest version and binaries will be on official release channels in three to four hours.

  • Beta channels: we've set up a beta chanel that also automatically updates, so you can use the release candidates easily on Beta!

Thanks to @grillo_delmal for figuring all of this out. It was fun.

Download here: https://flathub.org/apps/com.inochi2d.inochi-creator

@orowith2os @grillo_delmal Oh my god, a CI that automatically updates to the latest upstream release 😍 What a dream!

Lobau, to random

Getting pretty happy with how this is turning out. #gnome is quite nice to build apps for, and #libadwaita has some nice widgets :D

gregorni,
@gregorni@fosstodon.org avatar

@Lobau @bragefuglseth What about using a confirmation dialog after the button press instead of a destructive style?
