Besides enjoying the coffee #Porter from #DoisCorvos myself, I even enjoy more being in a bar where nearly everyone - one person drinks a lager - is drinking a Porter. After a crappy work day followed by an very annoying meeting with fellow flat owners I was quite late to join yesterday's #InternationalStoutDay. But the bourbon barrel aged #ImperialStout from the Portuguese #DoisCorvos helped to end the day in a very pleasant way.

Dark as a moonless night, sweet (but just not too sweet) and with heavy flavours from the bourbon. #itsalwaysstoutseason

Still in #Arles, still no #craftbeer bar. BUT: The bookdealer Natura Rerun offers books, selected spirits and some local beers. And he collaborated with #AquaeMaltae to brew Cervisia Alliata, his interpretation of an ancient beer of the area. Very tasty: Slightly sour, with a unbeerish taste from garlic, thyme, rosmary, artemesia and lavender honey - try it if you can! (Oh, the k-pop Gose Kimchi from the foto? Well, I like Gose and Kimchi, but better use two separate jars.) @beersofmastodon

After traveling on to the city of #Arles I still havn't found a dedicated bar for #craftbeer in town - any tips?

But the local store for biological food had a small selection. We opted for beers from the local #BAA (Braisserie Artisaname Arlésienne): A well made #Gose and a #Blanche with hibiscus flowers.

Drinking more #craftbeer in #Avignon - "la rousse" an amber ale with a bit more hop than usual, "La Comedienne" a pretty avarage #IPA and "Maltador" a very nice #Stout (unfortunately the only one I could find here although #itsalwaysstoutseason …) @beersofmastodon

I call it a day with "Siperia" - an imperial #stout from Finnland. Black as the night, flavours of roast malts, vanilla, dried plums and not very sweet. #itsalwaysstoutseason #craftbeer @beersofmastodon

Not exactly a #craftbeer, but one of my favourites: Zywiec Porter Baltycki from Poland - A Baltic #Porter true to the style: Dark as the night, tastes of licorice & dried plums, the litlle sweetness quickly gives room to the roasty malt flavours and makes you ache for more ... but be aware of 9,5% alcohol that you might not notice. Unfortunately my last bottle fom a trip to Poland. And #porter is even less popular in Germany than #stout an therefore hardly ever brewed.

Nictofilia - Bourbon Barrel Aged Peanut Butter & Vanilla Stout - Black as tar, 8,6% alcohol, no foam. You'd expect something sweet to chew on, but actually it is a bit "waterish" and not too sweet. A bit of Bourbon and vanilla, but not much peanut. #itsalwaysstoutseason #craftbeer @beersofmastodon

I headed to #SuskyRiverBeverageCo in #Perryville, #Maryland today. I got myself the Powder Boy dry Irish stout and the River Rat Rye stout. The standout of the day was the River Rat Rye. They've got such an incredibly beautiful space that's both dog and family friendly. If not before, I will definitely be back this fall. Thanks to @porch.beers.usa for hanging out for a couple hours! Just because a bavarian brewer writes "Imperial Stout" on the label of his too sweet and alcoholic tasting Doppelbock, it doesn't become an Imperial Stout. Not at all (And it's not even really black.) #craftbeer @beersofmastodon

I honestly admit: I've got no clue what an "Imperial Pastry Breakfast #Stout" is, at least not the middle part of the description. But the collaboration from #Mikkeller and #SofiaEldctricBreweing named "Beer Geek Balkan Breakfast" is a foamless, black liquid with a nice sweet, slightly vanilla taste. Nevertheless: Call me a conservative, but I think 10% of alcohol is not good for breakfast. This was my goodbye beer from #alleselbe which is still deeply missed. #craftbeer @beersofmastodon
