@timbray is there a good page on your blog that's a summary of your history with Atom? I'm thinking a lot about standards lately, and I feel like there could be some lessons there.

@timbray so, you're aware of how directly Atom is an antecedent to Activity Streams, right? And that AtomPub was the inspiration for the ActivityPub API? Our first API on StatusNet/GNU Social was AtomPub with ActivityStreams Atom objects as a command language.

So, GM is killing the Chevy Bolt later this year. A lotta folks are upset about that, but as someone who knows a lot about the car and how it fits into the broader EV landscape, I'm not actually too bothered by this news.

There's a /different/ bit of news from GM that I'm much more upset about but honestly the Bolt's time has come.

@TechConnectify I drive a Bolt and love it. I'm 6'2" and the car fits fine. But, yes, charging on roadtrips suuuuuuucks.

    This was interesting.

    First, "leaving your native country" is very fraught with meaning -- from emigration to vacation to business to refuge and asylum. There are a lot of intense feelings in the replies.

    I'm 26+. We moved to Canada about 20 years ago, but I visit California 1x-2x per year, so even without the international travel before I moved, I still clear 26.

    Last, very few zeros! Far fewer than I expected.
