I started using The #Spotify AI DJ and am thoroughly impressed. Reminds me a TON of traditional terrestrial radio of the 90s/00s. Also their recommendations are much more informed compared to the Spotify "Radio" playlist feature.

The Wi-Fi on this cruise has been amazing. I can’t believe that I can more or less use my phone like “normal” despite being in the middle of the ocean. #CruiseThoughts

@nebyoolae Which cruise line?? Norwegian had some archaic system where you had to "turn on/off" the internet using an intranet site to count against your "minutes" (even though we had unlimited). Using a VPN helped get by some of their rate limiting though...

I tried to be a good system admin and update #Mastodon to the latest v4.1.x, but even after restarting everything, the main web service fails to load. Doing this via iPhone is not ideal, so troubleshooting is annoying.

I'm not entirely sold on #Threads. It's great as a "Fuck You" to Twitter, but I think I need more reason to use an app than just pure spite. #Mastodon isn't perfect, but at least I'm in control.

@taylorlorenz I struggle with your viewpoint of Twitter having a "arcane follow-based social network".

While I appreciate the ability to explore and find new people to follow (which I think is a major missing feature of Mastodon), personally I want to only "see" the information I've requested to see on my timeline, not what an algo "thinks" I want to see.

I think TikTok is cute, but when it comes to opinions/information, I want to curate what I consume.

Playing around in the evenings trying to get GPU Passthrough/IOMMU working using to very limited success. Might have to try if I want this to work in a stable manner. I mean -- I guess I could just run Ubuntu on the Workstation, but it'd be such a waste. I'd rather slice it up into VMs and just pass the GPU into the VMs that need to do inference.

@AngryAnt Single GPU system. Right now just a Quadro P2000 for testing, but will be upgrading to a 4090 soon. The system itself is a Dual Xeon Dell 7820 Workstation, so I don't think there should be any hardware issues.
