There are two wolves inside of me until I read the news, then there is one, and it's not the good one.

I don't think the right word is "Prompting" when using LLMs. It's more like interrogating since I don't believe the initial answer and generally have to ask a series of follow-up questions to ensure I get the correct answer.

thoughts. Pattern matching of the head and tail of a stream without materializing into an iterator or a collection would be a great thing to have. I was trying @gunnarmorling zip, and I get why there is stream.iterator() as the solution since there is no other choice I can think of.

Here is Gunnar's blog entry on zipping: https://www.morling.dev/blog/zipping-gatherer/

I was going down this rabbit hole because I wanted to implement the Functional Style Fibonacci sequence using zip and Stream to no avail. Ended up with a Stack Overflow.

public Stream<Integer> fibonacci() {
 return Stream.concat(Stream.of(0, 1),

fibonacci().gather(zip(fibonacci().skip(1)).with(Integer::sum))); }

CFP will close on Tax Day, 2024

Sometimes, I get more worried when there is bipartisanship. This seems the antithesis of "freedom" to ban anything like this. There is a technology called sandboxes that the phone operating systems can use, and the CIA in 2020 found that there wasn't any evidence of scraping at that time. There is also, checking notes, the choice not to install the app at all and use it on the web.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/11/technology/carmakers-driver-tracking-insurance.html

"G.M., Honda, Kia and Hyundai, have started offering optional features in their connected-car apps that rate people’s driving. Some drivers may not realize that, if they turn on these features, the car companies then give information about how they drive to data brokers like LexisNexis."

Don't opt-in for tracking features unless you want some pedant griping about your driving and raising your insurance rates.

20 years ago today (March 11), I gave a young state senator from Chicago the cover of Illinois Times ahead of the Democratic primary. He went on to win Sangamon County and the state, but for some reason failed to complete his first term in the U.S. Senate. #illinois #politics
