Dinner yesterday was at #DockingBay7 , and we tried the BBQ pork shanks with leek and brussel sprouts salad, and blueberry corn muffin, which was a limited-availability item this past Friday through Sunday for the 5th anniversary of #GalaxysEdge #StarWarsGalaxysEdge .

I liked the dish ok, but the pork was a little dry. The salad was really good. #BlackSpireOutpost #Batuu #Disneyland 1/2

I saw #YoungWomanAndTheSea yesterday, a film based on the true story of Gertrude "Trudy" Ederle, the first woman to swim across the English Channel, in 1926.

Such a terrific movie, very well done, great job by #DaisyRidley and the rest of the ensemble cast, even when they're playing characters you'd like to toss into the ocean. /1

At #PixarPalsPlaytimeParty in the #FantasylandTheatre in #Disneyland for #PixarFest , there's also a photo op for #ItsABugsLife, and included in that is a box of Casey Jr. cookies. The "nutrition facts" caught my eye. 8,000 calorie diet seems ... high? And there's always a disclaimer about what could inadvertently be included, but the last line seems like more than you should expect? And, the mis-spelling is not mine. 1/2

For lunch today from #AwardWieners , I tried the plant-based Philly dog, topped with mushrooms, grilled onions and peppers and dairy-free crema. For some reason, I hadn't expected there to be a hot dog, just the vegetables. That might have been better, as the hot dog had zero flavor. None. I ended up having to put mustard on it to give it some flavor. It's not the first time I've encountered a plant-based product devoid of flavor, even something as simple as just salt. I don't get it. 1/2

We finally found the new Big Al sculpture, with the help of friends. We'd gone looking for him last week but I'd thought he was in a different place, and we apparently walked right past him without seeing him because we were focused on something else.

He's situated in the Disney Vacation Club space just across the #GrandCalifornianHotel entrance into #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure . The lockers have been moved further up the path, and they're free for 2 hours while you go on Grizzly River Run. 1/2

A woman is just about to cross the finish line of a half marathon. Her husband encourages their kids to celebrate with her. Except that he does this before the finish line, not after. He literally pushes two of the kids into her path to hug her. She deftly runs around them to cross the finish line. /1

Last weekend, I got to try the shaaken beef with Tattooine bounty, which includes peppers, onions and crispy kale, from #DockingBay7 , a dish that debuted on May 4 this year. I was very fortunate to be able to attend this tribute to #HowardAshman . What an amazing evening. And to top it off, they didn't pick this date for that reason, but today would have been Howard's 74th birthday.

The main guests were John Musker and Ron Clements, who, among other things, directed the animated films #TheLittleMermaid and #Aladdin, so they had a lot of stories to tell about Howard. /1

I saw #IFMovie last night, and I generally liked it, though I much preferred the second half to the first half. I thought the set-up took too much time, and I might also have liked the approach to be a little different. I also never really got the motivation for why Bea took on the endeavor, which I think would have helped. /1

(about 10 mins video - first of two videos) I was fortunate on Sunday to see two of the #BDXdroids on a training walk. They got to interact with some other droids, and showed us how they've been taught to react to royalty. Unfortunately, one of the droids ran out of charge before the end of the training and had to be helped off. (You know how when kittens are sleepy, they just stop and plop wherever they are and take a nap? Droids are apparently the same.) #StarWars

Saw #TogetherForever #TogetherForeverAPixarNighttimeSpectacular #PixarFest fireworks at #Disneyland tonight. Highlights for most people are #BuzzLightyear flying as well as the multi-ballooned house from #UpMovie .

It's actually the best fireworks show they've had in a while in that the fireworks are a significant and spectacular part of the show, as opposed to the focus being the visual projections. 1/3

Loved the stickers on the lamp, all of which are #Pixar related. /1

We had our second visit to #PaseoAnaheim last night. A friend and I shared the Caesar salad, which was really good. I particularly enjoyed the dressing.

I also tried the tuna ceviche, which I also really liked. And they included a pretty slice of watermelon radish. I'm still wondering about the beans being used for the chips, whether they're washed and re-used or just thrown away. I feel like it's such a waste if they're thrown away. #DowntownDisneyAnaheim /1

I saw #AlienMovie last night celebrating its 45th anniversary. It's been a seriously long time since I've seen the film, and I don't know if I've ever seen it in a theatre.

The Fox logo at the beginning looks so weird, and the fanfare is a shorter version than the one I'm used to, but other than that, the film holds up really well. 1/2

I went to an early screening of #TheFallGuy #TheFallGuyMovie last night. I thought the movie was a bit uneven, in that there were dialogue scenes and then there were action scenes, and they never seemed to mesh.

The best things about the movie are #RyanGosling and #EmilyBlunt , who are both really good and have great chemistry together. I also enjoyed seeing #WinstonDuke as well as #AaronTaylorJohnson in what was to me a surprising role. /1

We made our first visit to #PaseoAnaheim last night, right before official opening day today.

We started with an amuse bouche that included corn tortillas (which were underneath the folded napkin, and which I apparently didn't think to take a picture of). I really liked them, and they were sort of multi-colored patchwork quilt - very cool. The cheese was really good, as was the salsa and black bean spread. /1

So the building previously known as the #MagicEyeTheatre #MagicEyeTheater in #Tomorrowland sits empty. For #PixarFest, wouldn't it have been cool if they'd used the theatre to show #Pixar shorts, to honor the legacy and beginning of the company? #Disneyland 1/2

Some of the fun things I saw today at the #SanDiegoZoo, which we visited today to celebrate a friend's birthday. I didn't take a lot of pictures but just enjoyed hanging out with a bunch of friends. All the various hills did also give me a good workout. 1/3
