For lunch today from #AwardWieners , I tried the plant-based Philly dog, topped with mushrooms, grilled onions and peppers and dairy-free crema. For some reason, I hadn't expected there to be a hot dog, just the vegetables. That might have been better, as the hot dog had zero flavor. None. I ended up having to put mustard on it to give it some flavor. It's not the first time I've encountered a plant-based product devoid of flavor, even something as simple as just salt. I don't get it. 1/2
I also tried the asada fries - filmstrip fries topped with marinated carne asada, cheddar cheese, cilantro and onions, with salsa de arbol and guacamole. I enjoyed this, and the guac was particularly good. #AwardWieners#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure 2/2
We finally found the new Big Al sculpture, with the help of friends. We'd gone looking for him last week but I'd thought he was in a different place, and we apparently walked right past him without seeing him because we were focused on something else.
He's situated in the Disney Vacation Club space just across the #GrandCalifornianHotel entrance into #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure . The lockers have been moved further up the path, and they're free for 2 hours while you go on Grizzly River Run. 1/2

We went on #PixarPalARound yesterday, and we rode the non-swinging gondola. Some of our other friends decided to ride the swinging one. So Dug from #UpMovie came charging at us periodically, but always with a smile. #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure
While we were waiting for the fireworks last night at #Disneyland, we noticed the dark circle from the first fireball in #WorldOfColorOne at #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure floating overhead. We were hoping that the winds would blow the right way so it would ring the moon, but alas, it was not meant to be. Might need to sit on Main Street at some point to follow a ring.

Red panda bao (pork and vegetable stuffed bao) with chile-garlic sauce. They definitely know how to make the bao dough - good texture on this as with other bao at the resort. The filling had nice flavor. The sauce was a little lacking. It wasn't very spicy but I didn't taste any garlic. A garlic sauce would have added some extra flavor. #PixarFest#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure
Smoked fire wood BBQ spiced Impossible chicken with hot mustard sauce, pickles and charred onions. The charred green onions were nice. There was very little BBQ sauce, and I didn't notice any hot mustard sauce. Hot mustard would have helped a lot. I had a taste of the not-chicken, and it definitely needed seasoning. #PixarFest#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure
Ratatouille pizzetta, topped with mozzarella, eggplant, squash, zucchini, a drizzle of tomato sauce and a wedge of French camembert. I loved this dish. Ratatouille on a small pizza with a wedge of cheese! Perfect! #PixarFest#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure
Mood swing - half joyful yellow comforting mac & cheese and half angry red hot mac & cheese. I was glad they offered the half and half combo, and I love the name. The regular mac &cheese was very tasty. The red hot one mac & cheese was definitely very spicy, which built as you ate more. I can handle fairly spicy foods, but even with a half order, I could only eat about half of it. I can't imagine having a full order of it. #PixarFest#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure
Yesterday afternoon, I saw all the extra stuff they added to the #Pixar sculpture in the esplanade during the 15 hours since I'd seen it last. It's very nice, but my lament is that for Pixar, they often focus on the same several films. I appreciate that they've added a few more to this celebration, like #Ratatouille and #Brave and #WallE , #PixarFest#Disneyland#DisneyCaliforniaAdventure 1/2
A flat version of the iconic #Pixar ball is being installed in the esplanade between #Disneyland and #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure . Maybe Luxo Jr. will go at the top of the pole?
