Well, having been exercise-shamed by my psychiatrist this morning, I just went for a Stupid Walk for my Stupid Mental Health. 6 minutes. In the biting cold. and ok, it wasnāt much, or far, but you better believe it was fast! āFeelās likeā is 7.9, and weāve had the heater on all day today. (And the Evil Neighbour is prone to stalking behaviour - I notice they have just gone out, so I was lucky to dash in and out before they got me.)
Arvo, Toots. Disturbed night again - and managed to somehow sleep through two alarms - if #Wonderdog hadnāt come out got me up, I would have missed my online appointment with my psychiatrist! Oops! That out of the way, I have now found there is yet another fee associated with the South Australian family grave transfer documents, and the MoooAaaning cooow scissor lift is back in operation across the road. Think Iāll start a pot of soup.
Howās your day going?
I have been awake since 530. Because the workers renovating the crappy old light industrial building directly across the street arrived then. And at 6 am they started their scissor lift, which moans like a dying cow every time it moves up or down, or drives along the building. MOOOOOaaaannnn whirrrr clatter "Oi! Watchit, maate!" Bang Bang bang bang MOooAaannn whirrr Baang bang...
Might as well get up then I suppose. #NotAMorningPerson#Tired
@anathema_device When #Wonderdog and partner took the bin out early this morning, Wonderdog barked at the MooooAANing Cow scissor lift man (fair enough) and here was an attempted shout from Evil Neighbour. Attempted - his usual is loud and nasty. This sounded like he could barely speak. Is it wrong to hope the silly twat has given himself double pneumonia , lurking about, spraying water, and kicking the fence in the cold of the night?
Arvo, Toots! Achievements so far today: #Wonderdog has been to see her friends at the vets. She hates the car ride there, but adores the vets - so her 2 monthly āspaā visit (anal glands, nail trim, general check over, medication update) was a success. She snuggled in the back seat on the way home. Partner then did groceries, I replaced the batteries in my iPad keyboard case - took a bit of doing, but done! Now Iām updating my #Trove lists, and thinking about what to make for dinner.
And you?
I find the vast majority of yogurt products in American grocery stores to be totally inedible, except the stuff made by immigrants and sold at immigrant markets (desi yogurt, or Lebanese or Turkish labneh). Way too much sugar, or hype, sometimes both. My stomach also does better with the dairy from immigrant markets.
@anathema_device well spotted! Yep, I did wonder - not our usual Koel! But by that stage I was beyond tired. Ordinarily I would be happy to hear the Boobook...
It makes sense that MacOS has a few words in its spellchecking dictionary that arenāt in the Oxford Dictionary used by the Dictionary app. āGenevieveā is one example.
But it makes no sense to me that some words the Dictionary app knows are redlined by the spellchecker.
@anathema_device LOL! My old Burmese used to love watched bird documentaries, would do the little āHuntingā mouth chatter and everything. In real life, she was terrified by birds, and when sunning herself in our enclosed Canberra backyard, the sparrows used to chase her inside!
Arvo, Toots. Having a slow one today - all of us feeling the colder weather, and feeling it in our bones. #Wonderdog is booked in to see her vet later in the week, for a refill of her arthritis medicine; partner has retreated for a nap. I am reflecting on a discussion I had last night with an old friend who still thinks that #MECFS can be managed with āroutine,ā and maaate. Iāve lived with this since 1992, thatās 32 years now. You think thereās anything I havenāt TRIED?!
@timrichards Not just a MCP, IMHO. (Am I middle class in a household living on two pensions??) we use olive oil for almost everything for our health. Australian Olive Oil, because a) Australian, b) Taste, c) Freshness, d) Air miles. Yes, I will probably use some canola or sunflower oil instead, but itās not my first choice. I already use a sprayer for oil for the #AirFryer. But for salad dressings and the occasional olive oil cake? Aussie Olive Oil, please.
@timrichards@weezmgk I will always read good travel writing - as an armchair traveller, I often travel vicariously, and dream. I love reading about the little things - and the social history of places. Everyone has something different to bring. Moooore travel writing, say I!
