shifting into serious for a second: check out the same area in the DS remakes. could gamefreak have lost the plot any worse than this? this is Majora's Mask DS-levels of failing-the-vibe-check. who eye-ball tested this, imagine dragons? why.

when i said "lock her up" i really meant "style her hair in dreadlocks." i thought she would look good with locks. many people were saying this.

@jake4480 lol, missed that one

@jake4480 "my culture is a very dominant culture and it's causing problems," is like a fake SimCity blurb

Judging from experience with the global federated timeline, I fear the quickest way to weed out spam on the fediverse is to block mastodon.social

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@jake4480 @rootcompute

the solution is for mastodon.social to require manual approval for each newly registered account. this is possible for smaller instances, but likely not feasible for .social. basically, you're getting blocked. bye bye.

cartoon portrait of me circa 2019 or so. this was at a work thing, and the artist talked to me for about 30 minutes before doing the sketch, hence the cats and speech bubble contents.

Dragon Quest III for GBC was released on December 8th, 2000. Big oversight on my part.

Pretty cool how my old iPod touch from over 10 years ago has nearly 3000 songs loaded up and there's no way for me to recover any of them

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@rootcompute oh this one is simple. plug the ipod into your stereo then record the output with a blue yeti mic via audacity then individually tag and label each recording. all the millennials are doing this.

I've been meaning to share a couple things I've recorded somewhat recently. Nothing fancy, simple one-take stuff — obvious mistakes and all. I make no claims of being a professional! :cat_music:

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@LadyMarth01 nice ambiance. sounds like a lofi mixture of Talk Talk's last two albums and Spacemen 3's less noisy tracks.

Radical idea for social media: we should be able to leave a like on other people's like actions. If somebody likes (or "favorites" in Mastodon parlance) my post, I should be able to express that I like that they liked what I had to say

We could continue giving each other back and forth likes until eventually two accounts bound together in reciprocal liking reach the like singularity

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@rootcompute we should be able to repost likes and let others know that they liked our likes

i love Okami, but there is no excuse for its unskippable 20-minute exposition-dump introduction. it's almost so hostile to the player that Capcom should have been required to put a warning on the box, "heavy object required."

i've always found pop covers of metal songs fascinating as they clearly draw out the original creator's intended melody and reveal the pop underpinnings of metal (standard verse-chorus song structures, for example), and The Cardigan's cover of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath comes close to being one of my favorite renovations.

anything else come to mind?

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@LadyMarth01 excellent pick. the greatest covers are such that they sound almost like a different song entirely, befitting the style of the coverer instead of the coveree; The Cardigans and Cake do just that.

Okay, but has anybody actually eaten a slice of the glue pizza? Don't knock it until you try it

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

@rootcompute right. everyone is so self-righteous, like they're better than me because i eat glue pizza or drink my own urine.
