Don’t know why I thought people would want to read about freaks or the abused. No one cares. Normal people don’t want to read about losers and outliers. Freaks don’t want to be reading that shit. I stupidly thought that they and I would feel less alone. I feel so stupid for what I did the last 30 years. Such a failure. I need to stop. Why can’t someone stop me or kill me. Ugh. So sick of myself.

It's been like Christmas time with my store ever since I updated my logo to the "a store for autistic & neurodivergent adults" part.

Average order value is much higher, so people are spending more money. Google conversions are higher. Daily conversion rate doubled. Really genuinely did not expect that. I was just trying to do the right thing and stop excluding people.

I am super grateful for it.

@pathfinder I'm running the one store and self-publishing for next to nothing, so all the decisions I've made are falling into place at the right time.

The water conditioner I used to clean up my fish tank water when I first filled it up doesn't work.

So I put too much stuff in the tank trying to balance the water levels.

Now the water is gross.

So thinking... Do I empty the entire tank and start over with plants, or do I attempt to fix it.

My total lack of impulse control last month got me in this mess.

@thomas Tetra water conditioner. The water still had a ton of chlorine in it and the water was acidic. Added stress coat and ammo lock and pH stuff. I think I added too much of each. The water is really cloudy.

My grocery delivery got here just now and they brought the bucket I ordered, so I can finally start getting some of that gross water out of the tank.

@thomas I realized as I was taking water out of the tank and got about 1/3 the way down that the moss balls and moss rocks are still alive, so that is probably why my water looks all green and cloudy and gross.

I installed an actual filter in the tank and the water already looks better.

Added stress coat and more water too.

After remembering I will soon have 2,000 chew necklaces to sell, I did some test posts across my business social media accounts.

To sum it up, people and the algorithms prefer the suffering posts. I'm doing better posts get ignored and unfollowed.

I've concluded it's all a waste of time.

I'll just abandon all the business accounts. Except for TikTok since it favors my business posts.

The little girl that goes outside and screams in the courtyard for 3 hours every evening was finally disciplined by her mom.

She started screaming outside and her mom told her to stop. She refused to stop, so she lost her being outside privileges.

Then went up to her room and threw a screaming tantrum banging on the walls. I could hear the mom go mockingly, "Oh no I can't scream!" 😆

Hopefully this means I can go to sleep early now instead of being kept awake by her screaming outside.

I feel like I’m out of autistic burnout.

Went through a lot of changes at once. Dumped the severely toxic relationship, gained self-worth, developed coping skills.

Even shutting down Autistic Bookshop and moving it all to The Autistic Innovator. Huge stress relief.

All that’s left is getting the right balance with ADHD meds and then I’ll be golden.

I got a message today from someone who was google searching looking for info about self-publishing and it gave my store link in the search results. So yay! I emailed them and will discuss further tomorrow. Pretty neat that google is already bringing self-published authors to the store. It also brought some visitors today to the book collection of self-published authors.

I deleted all social media apps from my phone except for Mastodon and Reddit.

Facebook is nothing but ads telling me to lose weight. Instagram went from telling me to become an influencer to literally showing my posts to no one. X boxed me into a brand and won’t let me get out of it.

The last few days I tried to be a real person + talk about business things I’m excited about, and I just watched all the algorithms suppress it.

So just going to see how well my business can do without it.

@pathfinder The pressure started to feel like I’m supposed to be an entertainer instead of an entrepreneur. Big accounts on X have said that once they reached 5k followers people stopped seeing them as a real person. I’m only at 3,700 followers and I already feel like that.

If I’m not talking about how I’m suffering from autism and ADHD, people don’t want to read it. When I’m doing better, I get unfollowed and suppressed.

@pathfinder it’s not healthy at all. The pressure to maintain it is just too much, and now I can’t get out of that suffering box. Algorithms are tanking my views and reach when I’m trying to just be a normal healthier minded person.

All the posts with 40k views were long posts about me suffering from autistic burnout and ADHD. At some point burnout ends and ADHD gets treated.

@Tooden @pathfinder That’s what it seems to be. When I had 2,000 followers I got to post about my business and boring things and people enjoyed it. But then I had a couple of posts get up to like 44k views and my followers grew to 3,780. So all these new people expect to see me talk about the suffering they relate to. When they see me posting about my business and boring things they unfollow.

@ActuallyAutistic Profits were nice last month, but my expenses were $1,200 higher, so it needed a good month. But now my business is running on next to nothing with cost. I can afford to take the hit from being off social media now. Good thing about being down to only one store.

@DoctorDisco @pathfinder Facebook’s ad algorithm is cruel too. I posted once that I’m comfortable being single and gained weight which was a good thing because I got way too underweight and unhealthy, and now all I see are ads about weight loss. Including meds for weight loss. It got really triggering so I just stopped looking at Facebook.

I gave myself the day off today and didn't do any work except for processing daily orders at 3pm.

Emotions and energy were all over the place since I messed with my meds.

I had fun chewing hard on my chew necklace for 4.5 hours almost nonstop. I feel more confident that it can last with a hard chewer.

But despite the emotional and energy ups and downs, I'm finishing off the day with my favorite chicken for dinner, so that's a daily win. :)
