Last week I attended PHPTek 2024 in Chicago, this was my first time in a PHP Conference. It was such an extraordinary experience that I’m looking forward to make the flight from Quito, Ecuador to the US again next year for PHPTek 2025.

Thank you very very much to the sponsors @compassioncode @packagist @zend @sensiolabs @Vonage @OSMHhelp @PubNub @vehikl @FusionAuth and @DevITjobs as they make this conferences possible!! See you again next year!!

The number of things software companies could learn from the aviation world is enormous.

How often do you train for emergencies like your database being dropped? How do you decide what actions to take in a security incident? Who is in charge? What checklists do you have? How do you make decisions?

Lives may not be at risk in software. But livelihoods are. We should act like it.

aiglesiasn,

@sarah yes!!! And also I would add more things we can learn from the pilot’s training: 1) learn how we can communicate better between developers (juniors and seniors). 2) have a culture that encourages developers to ask questions so they can learn from people who really know about their crafts and not someone who can be blinded by hype. 3) promote learning from crisis, not only as a group, but also as individuals, because the outcome of stress situations teach us how we act and what to improve.
