This is extremely racist considering the majority of national liberation movements outside the US have been Marxist-Leninist or Maoist in nature. You’re basically (albeit I will generously assume unwittingly) saying “Fuck all anti-imperialist non-white communist movements”.

I think the people here really need to reevaluate how they use that word as a slur for people they disagree with politically, especially when it comes to white people using it from within the imperial core.

@ada See this is the kind of thing we are talking about. This sort of anti-communist rhetoric invites reactionaries.

I am also trying really hard to remain civil here and advocating that our users do so as well but when you have reactionary assholes saying “fuck communism” and using ableist slurs you should reflect on your whole “anti-tankie” stance.

Let this be a lesson to the moderation team here. When you allow this sort of bigotry you invariably get these sort of people weaponizing rules against “tankies” to shield themselves while being outspoken bigots.

It was illegal to be black in the state at all. They didn’t ban slavery because they were abolitionists, they wanted a whites only state. Those laws remained on the books even after the Civil War.

Craziest part is that a lot of people that follow that line of thinking have also at least recognized the immediacy of police and prison abolition in the context of places like the US but can’t seem to take the next step in applying the same logic to places outside the imperial core.
