I've made the bevy iteration of my card prototype source available: https://github.com/Leinnan/slavic_castles

It can be played in browser at: https://leinnan.github.io/slavic_castles/

Finally, some progress on my card game! I was able to finally reach a point when it is more feature complete than previous iteration written a few years ago with different framework (quicksilver, it's dead now) 😅

Due to:

  • macOS/iOS integration being really good
  • context switching between win11/macOS sucking
  • wanting affordable Apple Silicon CI
  • zed being macOS-only for now
  • DaVinci Resolve being great on mac (even w/low specs)
I bought the cheapest M2 mac mini they have 🤷

@fasterthanlime Now install Fedora Asahi on it 🙈

I think that will be mostly it. I didn't have enough time to finish it for jam as I wanted, but it is something 😄Available here: https://mevlyshkin.itch.io/rougepush Source code: https://github.com/Leinnan/rougepush

First version is up! 🆙 Simple to use plugin implementing ScrollView into Bevy engine. Supports scroll using dragging and scrolling, should work on all platforms. https://github.com/Leinnan/bevy_simple_scroll_view Live demo: https://leinnan.github.io/bevy_simple_scroll_view/

Published two crates for
https://crates.io/crates/bevy_tiled_blueprints for tiled support.
Second one: https://crates.io/crates/bevy_ehttp for handling web requests using ehttp, that works on WASM and native versions. The second one is mostly a result of using foxzool ehttp crate and feedback that I've got in PR for bevy that I created. I've ended up with event approach, since it felt like it make the most sense, but I am going to battle prove it, so we will see.

In my search for the perfect knowledge assitant device, I wrote down my thoughts, with the hope that someone would build it one day: https://preslav.me/2024/01/19/the-perfect-knowledge-assistant-device-that-does-not-exist/

@preslavrachev What I would love is the remarkable hardware with support for Linux like in PineNote. That way would open possibilities to users to really craft they own workflows.

Finally- I am able to easily import Synty assets into #bevy with basic material easily :D My unpacker: https://github.com/Leinnan/lwa_unity_unpack does not work yet perfectly, but it's getting there. The issue with Synty assets is that in base fbx files there are garbage materials - the proper ones are specified in prefabs so I am trying to read them in materials and update exported gltf files. #rustlang #gamedev #indiedev

"Bevy Blueprints" in Tiled, still WIP, but I think it could be useful for some during the jam. Is it easy to understand how to use, or could I do something to make it easier? https://github.com/Leinnan/bevy_tiled_blueprints

@soller any chance for Windows port? How much it would take?

MevLyshkin,
@MevLyshkin@mastodon.gamedev.place avatar

@soller It is not, due to dep on freedesktop_icons in libcosmic(named.rs:51- freedesktop_icons::lookup). But when I comment out code for it, I am able to run it. I am not quite sure what should be done here, and how to at least try to provide some icons from Windows. Still - impressive work and the fact that I was able to compile so easily blows mine mind.

Finally, I've got some spare time, and I've updated my small plugin for buttons, so it supports 0.11: https://github.com/Leinnan/bevy_button_released_plugin

Discovery of the day: I stumbled upon a website that allows us to explore maps from various games as if we were flying over them. This is an excellent resource for studying level design: https://noclip.website
