Driving to Taos in the gorge yesterday when an 18 wheeler heading south flashed lights at us. We were puzzled because in NM drivers don't try to warn each other about speed traps, normally. We saw why, shortly, and all the traffic- not much- was respectfully slowed for this sight.

The arm tie is pretty much straight off Ropunawa’s Tenshi videos from Shibari Study [though I should note for historical accuracy, the Tenshi harness was originally developed by Tifereth in Toronto and it is quite ingenious in its simplicity and versatility].

Why does every smart device manufacturer think they need to make their own hub/protocols? Why can’t they just pick a protocol and all use the same shit?

Or maybe not even need a separate hub and just with the shit people are already likely to have like a HomePod or Alexa hub.

This rant brought to you buy the “SwitchBot” we just got to turn our bedroom gas fireplace on and off remotely and it only works on Bluetooth unless you buy a separate hub to connect it to Homekit.

Mind you, I’ve already got an Aqara hub and several HomePods that OUGHT to be able to serve as hubs for whatever the fuck device needs one.

I don’t want a diff app & protocol & hub for every damn smart appliance/device mkay, thanks.

Speaking of rest, a little story on rest and …

Yesterday I was putting away laundry, happpily jamming some music on my headphones and dancing and just having the best time possible doing mundane housework. I was nearing the end of 🧺 #3 when I started to feel a little bored so I put in an internal request for any music any of the headmates might want to listen to and Light Grenades by Incubus was selected.

So we’re finishing up the last bit of laundry enjoying an Incubus album that we listened to a lot in college and I just start yawning over and over like I just can’t stop yawning. And then it dawns on me that the yawns are just college me being stuck in there feeling so fucking tired that she can’t stop yawning and she really doesn’t want to do any more laundry. So I speak to her out loud and say “it’s ok, we understand. We know you are so tired but it’s ok. You can rest. We got this.” I felt my whole body heave such a huge sigh of relief just then. 👩‍👩‍👧

For context, I put myself through college while working full time to support myself. Zero parental support. I do not recommend it. My body paid dearly for those years existing almost solely on cortisol, adrenaline, and caffeine.
