Who knew that the key to lifting oneself out of #depression was by looking in one's junkmail. It's kind of sad, actually, because it leaves #LTC open to potential lawsuits and/or human rights complaints. Oh well, live and learn, I guess.

@InsaneAtheist Agreed, the that would be my suggestion to the person in the article, but I know from experience that human rights actions are slow and lengthy, and it's annoying a quicker and more equitable solution can't be implemented in the interrum. I also have a quicker solution, as a service dog owner, that would make sense, provided no pets or ESA's were involved.

@InsaneAtheist LOL, I've been a service dog handler for almost 18 years, and it was a hell of a lot less of a struggle before the "craze". Sometimes the status quo doesn't have to change. Not sure why dog lovers had to decide that every dog should have access rights. It's often forgotten and lost in the fine print, that even service animals can be kicked out for poor management and inadequate hygiene.

A perfect example of #LTC avoiding #responsibility can be seen with the implementation of the new #pet #policy. As it stands right now, they were only willing to implement the bare minimum to ensure the #safety of other #passengers, especially those with #service #dogs. A letter I wrote detailed what concerns I had, and why they should be considered, but again, LTC came out in favour of minimum responsibility on the operators.

@bmoore123 I'm not sure I'm understanding the question. If you have to contend with a pet losing its mind because you're around, if possible, take the next train.

@bmoore123 If the pet is upset by your dog's presence and you can't avoid one another, I'd speak to TTC and mention your concerns and see what solutions they have.

@bmoore123 If a solution is not feasible, and TTC isn't willing to work with you on a better alternative, the last road is an application to the HRTO against TTC.

@bmoore123 And you're going to encounter other animals that will react in various ways to the presence of another animal, and all you can do is make sure that your animal is under control, and ignore the rest. You can't be responsible for someone else's management of their animal, but you can ensure that yours isn't the problem.

@bmoore123 Other options involve consultation with and/or communicating with your local accessibility committee specifically for transit. If London has one, I'm sure TTC has one as well. Writing a letter to them is always an option to get heard.

Does anyone find it interestingly ironic (yet typical), that a profiling questionnaire to join an #accessibility #research panel was ... dare I say, somewhat #inaccessible? Why does this happen more often than not? Oh, I already know the answer. I just don't like it.
