Honestly, not too surprised by this given the direction Jetpack has been going in the past few years. It became very noticable since 2022 when WordPress.com reduced the free plan storage to 500 MB (is hardly anything) from 3 GB to entice free users to upgrade to a more expensive WordPres.com Pro plan While they increased it back to 1 GB, it’s still very little and pales to what it was before. That is until they brought back the legacy plans after this failed attempt

Jetpack has been getting worse, severely limiting features that used to be free like social media sharing, making the plans more expensive and even recently, started forcing people to pay for stats, which is rather basic, even if the blog is not commercial.

I always advocate for self-hosting (not using Wordpress.com to host your blog) your stuff as it’s a defense against enshittification. Yes, you can even self-host WordPress and there are alternatives to what Jetpack can provide.

Coorinsidence that all this Enshittification went full force with “free” money gone and higher interest rates starting in 2022. Now, companies are feeling the pinch after about a decade of burning VC money and now, they have to be substainable without it.

An update on the house repair. Well, I paid the $450 from my emergency savings and apparently the siding was cracked from coming off. In addition for them putting it back on, they fixed the crack, so it's finally taken cared of.

While it’s a lot, I will recover from this rather quickly and I'm not stressed by this as my financial situation is stable and I have savings.

Windows 11 isn’t that great, but forced to use it. Thankfully, I use Mac as my main OS as using Windows is painful enough.

The enshittification of Discord officially begins as it started to start showing ads. Can we move to something that people control and not Discord.

Also, a PSA, stop using Discord as the everything app. Forums, Wikis, XMPP, IRC exists.

Update: I know it's April Fools, but I am very suspicious if it happens again when it's not April 1st.

At least I enjoyed the full blooms last week in DC, going like three days and taking over 500+ photos, with two being used as the new images for our Mastodon and Misskey/Sharkey server.

With the end of the month coming up, I wonder what will be the fate of #Cohost as their funding is about to dry up. Will they shutdown or somehow miraculously survive another day with last minute funding and delay the demise, since their operation is not sustainable.

One can only speculate.

Sigh, the chief character designer for Re:Zero season 3 paused their xitter :deadbird: after being attacked for un-lewding the lolis.

I mean, the original designs were bikinis showing underboob and sideboob godammit, that's not broadcastable in many places. They got changed to croptops and short shorts to un-lewd them, so should be fine, right? It's not like they were changed to full burqas. The lewdness was never part of the characters anyway, it was purely unnecessary fanservice. People go crazy over ankles and armpits anyway cough Ubel cough Serie.

I wonder, how many people experienced this, but apparently AmiAmi used bigger boxes for the same scale figure.

I know that they want to fit more and add more protection, but obviously this rises the shipping costs.

Haven’t experience this since I don't order from AmiAmi nor I buy figures more than 1/7 scale.
