For all the video nerds out there who watched the #ESC and wondered how die video encoders of the TV stations handled the demoshow level visuals of the Swedish act at the beginning of the #esc2024, here a comparison:

1. Picture EBU feed from Malmö to the TV-Stations via DVB-S2 (1080i50 422 35mbit/s h264)
2. Picture ARD received via DVB-T2 (1080p50 6mbit/s h265)
3. Picture ORF1 HD received via DVB-S2 (720p50 10mbit/s h264)
4. Picture FM4 via ORF TV-Thek (720p25 2.8mbit/s h264)

Weiß jemand vom wem diese Patches sind?
Den Patch hab ich im Chaosdorf in der Stickerbox gefunden letztes Jahr.
Ich hätte das Design gerne als Sticker. Ich kann's nachbauen aber falls jemand weiß von wem es ist wäre cool. Auch zum danke sagen für die coolen Patches.

Gosh why is Windows such a piece of crap.

I installed a fresh installation of Windows Server 2022, and right on the first boot it gives me an error that 6 Services are unable to start. Like WTF how is this a product they ship.

I almost exclusively work with Linux servers these days and I almost forgot how much of a shit show Microsoft is.

Eek. Apparently liblzma (part of the xz package) has a backdoor in versions 5.6.0 and 5.6.1, causing SSH to be compromised.

This might even have been done on purpose by the upstream devs.

Developing story, please take with a grain of salt.

The 5.6 versions are somewhat recent, depending on how bleeding edge your distro is you might not be affected.

I hate how widespread shitty DRM like iLok is in the music industry. I own a whole bunch of software that sadly uses iLok and when I think about how much money all of that software is worth at regular retail prices this shitty USB stick is probably worth more than its weight in gold.

But then can I even say that I own that software given that is uses DRM?

Don't buy anything from Haier or their subsidiaries Casarte, Leader, GE Appliances, Fisher & Paykel, Aqua and Candy.

They just hit the developer of the home assistant integration for their smart devices with a take down notice and are threatening legal action against them.

Well my #37c3 got cut short this year. Woke up stomach cramps and can't keep any food down. I can't sit or stay on my feet for longer than a couple minutes without getting nauseous. And on top of that I have really bad back pain since I had to vomit in the morning.

I sadly don't think that it will be much better tomorrow so that makes yesterday (day 2) my last day at congress.
Getting back home will be interesting.

Ich Versuche Amazon zu avoiden aber wie oft man damit sich nur Stress macht ist echt frustrierend.

Erst jetzt wieder bei nem Händler den ich auf eBay gefunden habe ne neue Fixiereinheit für meinen Brother Laserdrucker bestellt am Montag. Lieferung Mittwoch bis Donnerstag.

Dienstag Mittag haben sie das Paket als Verschickt markiert, im Tracking sieht man das sie aber bis heute das Paket nicht an DHL übergeben haben sondern nur das Label erstellt wurde.

#cccamp23 Day +2: 7h of driving and cargo van unloading. Now a quick shower and then I'm falling into my bed. I have a quite comfy tent and air mattress, but I'm really glad to be able to sleep in my own bed again.

I just got a cute little dev biard with an ESP32 and a Sx1262 for LoRaWAN shenanigans :3

There is an ESP32 Arduino core fork with support for the SX1262 and a LoRaWAN stack but it's very limited and doesn't support ESP-IDF.

But there is a good LoRaWAN stack for ESP-IDF out there (ttn-esp32), it just needs some modifications as it currently only supports the older Sx127x chips.

Der Musicstore in Köln war mir immer schon irgenwie so subtil unsympathisch. Bei mir war immer so ein Gefühl da, das sie erzwungen versuchen cool zu sein und die offensive Werbung für Kredite und Finanzierung war mir suspekt.

Hab gestern mal geschaut wer den die Consor Finanz eigentlich ist, und tjaa... Was man online liest, ist das wohl so richtige ne Abzocker Bude die Leute über den Tisch zieht die eh nicht viel Geld haben.
