It seems like day after day far right causes are advanced in every sector of our society. Some days it saps my hope for the future. Critical issues like voting rights, reproductive rights, freedom of speech, adherence to the rule of law, support for democracy here and around the globe all are under threat from Republicans here at home.

In all of these cases (& many more) seemingly the only way to fight back is to vote. The problem is the right has no plans to abide by the results. It’s scary.

@gedeonm Can definitely volunteer or donate to get out the vote efforts and for candidates (remote phone banking, post card writing, etc)

Looking for a CLI tool to snapshot a directory (tree)… and then compare current state of that tree to a snapshot.

(Can't use git. Diffing ls -laR is too noisy…)

This has to be a pre-existing thing surely.

@schwa interesting that this isn’t something simple. Tried ls with more parameters piped though awk to strip stuff I don’t care about that ls -l always puts in there (perms, user, etc) but yah, diffing that is still too noisy. Was thinking of bbdiff of ls + awk output, but I can see that’s not what you’re looking for either.

mtree is kind of interesting, but not quite it.

I told ChatGPT to make a graphviz file from the intra-target dependencies of my (overly complex) Package.swift

It seems to do a good job.

Do i trust it without validation/ Hell no.

At my latest competition I booked a 29.5s time for solving a Rubik's Cube. The judge at my station said "Wow", not because it was an amazing time, but because they never expected a random old dude to score it. Defying expectations, FTW. https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/persons/2023JALK02

@danielpunkass @jonschwenn Ah, so you get to look at the cube first and then put on the blindfold and solve it. I was trying to imagine tactile faces instead of colors or something like that. Impressive either way!

Tesla has texted or called me at least 10 times in the last month to offer incentives if I lease a new car with them after my Model Y ends at the start of May. They are quite litterally desperate.

If I chose to re-up with them I could get quite a deal. I’ve told their reps multiple times I won’t support Tesla as along as Elon Musk is the CEO of the company. Gotta wonder how long Tesla shareholders will put up with him in charge. https://mastodon.online/@electrek/112201815082910986

@gedeonm Almost worth buying shares of stock to vote against this :) (probably too late though).
