They have been portals, they can show the past, present and also the future, show the truth of a situation and also reveal the truth about a person. The Àlfar are complicated in Norwegian myth and folklore. They have distinct grouping and categories. Some are called Ljosalfar, Svartalfar and Dokkalfar. The Àlfar have a different language, as well as the Duergar (the dwarfs). It can seem from the folklore that Àlfar are closely connected to the Gods. #mythology #folklore #fairylore

Àine is one of the most famous Fairy Queens in Ireland . She has strong ties to the south. She has a very complex folklore. Her name likely means “brightness” or “splendour” and is associated with the sun. She had many love affairs either mortals and it is believed that several Irish Family lines come from this union. When Christianity was beginning to get popular in history fairies were still classified and acknowledged as fairies in the literature. Which is surprising as there is temptation to recategorise them as demons or demonic, but this did not happen. #mythologymonday #fairylore #mythology #folklore

@mishellbaker sure! Here are a couple of cocoa butter painting things I worked on and a very large perler piece I am working right now and one did for Christmas :)

The fairy flag is believed to be a very powerful magical object, it was given by a fairy royal (her shawl) to calm her crying child that she could not be with and was used by clans as a flag through out the years. It was believed to have many powers. #FolkloreSunday #folklore #mythology

I have now officially entered the time of year of goblin winter hibernation mode. I have got the soup cauldron ready (slow cooker) and will be spending the next too months when not working gaming, reading, minimal contact with the world outside and entering a state of goblin mode and eating hearty soups and baking bread.

@mrpablington I am going to be starting Grandia soon which will be fun and playing Mario Wonder over the weekend. I contemplating if I can fit in a third game such as persona 5 Royal over January and Febuary with the build up to the new final fantasy coming out 🤣

The final game completed for 2023 is a classic game and absolutely loved playing through it and finishing it. the game has a great villain and great story. I played the game when it first came out in the snes and the pixel remaster did a great job.

To start today off right...I'm watching anime...A classic by the name of Magic Knight Rayearth!

I loved the manga and it's an easy watch...Especially after having watched something so heavy like Attack on Titan!

Then it will be time for work, at least I'll be getting time and a half.

Mythology that appears in video games!

Links horse Epona in Ocarina of Time is more than likely named after the Celtic Goddess of the same name. The goddess Epona was a protector of horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules. She was particularly a goddess of fertility, as shown by her attributes of a patera, cornucopia, ears of grain, and the presence of foals in some sculptures.

Had quite a chilled time with family today. It was really nice to catch up with family. I was playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my mum, sister and sister in law. It was fun and made me miss playing games in the same room as other people🤣
