anybody have a clue why all my tt accouts are getting admin rights even though I have default user set?

ChrisDuffley,

@destructatron @evilcookies98 No need. If logged in, the server properties (F9 in the main window) gives the version as the last edit field in that dialog. Absolutely no need for Telnet though yes this can be done as well.

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @destructatron The only things you really shouldn't go doing to them are your server ports. After that, it, wel, kind of doesn't matter...I host my own servers and don't care what people do with them, the only issues are your ports and also your timeout values. If you ever need a backup ,etl me know and I'll set ya up!

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @destructatron I don't have much of a limitation for that either...so...yeah!

ChrisDuffley,

@TSchulte @evilcookies98 It works but you've got to know its idiosyncrasies to get around it. Very doable though, don't think it's a screen reader issue, it's Qt that's stupid enough to be not standard with its controls. Just trust me on this one. I've been using both clients for years so I'm really used to it now.

ChrisDuffley,

@TSchulte @evilcookies98 Exactly. It's Qt, the framework for the GUI, that still needs a bit of work...

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @TSchulte Oh hell no, that's understandable...

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @TSchulte Sort of...yes!

note to self, checking remaining track timein spl from the tweesecake window will consistantly produce unsatisfactory results.

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 Not if you use SPL Controller layer command (which can be assigned to the SPL Assistant layer via Advanced Settings). You can then use Controller than r to get the remaining time from anywhere outside of SPL. You're welcome!

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 LOL. It's called the SPL Controller layer, which is the global layer of commands that is used outside of SPL. This can be used with the SPL Assistant layer keystroke by going to Advanced in the NVDA+Alt+0 settings, selecting Advanced, and then checking the Allow SPL Controller command to invoke SPL Assistant layer checkbox.

ChrisDuffley,
ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @TSchulte The only way I hate being bothered is by phone call/real-time conversations. On here, for example, or email, or whatever, I never consider this a "bothersome" thing as I can reply when I am able to. And everyone's learning. No question is a stupid question!😄

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 @TSchulte Like everything it'll take a little time. You'll get there eventually! :)

ChrisDuffley,

@TSchulte @evilcookies98 FYI, caps lock was on during that post.

How hard is it to get one of those annual licenses for jaws? I have not changed my mind about wanting one, even if it is for one piece of software. Who knows, I might actually end up liking it. While I have your attention, let me ask you this, Which screen reader has better touchscreen support? I have the touchscreen and I’m going to use it.

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 I've seen JAWS be better. But who knows. NVDA does have TS support though and SPL does have its own touch mode.

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 The JAWS scripts are about to go annual subscription because of the inflation and crap and the rest. Argh...

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 Yes. Very much so.

Over the past couple of months, I have learned that the following things are guaranteed not to work. Trying to plug your headphones into the SD card reader.
Trying to plug a USB device into an HDMI port.
Trying to use the computer when you’ve put one of the batteries in the keyboard backwards.
Trying to disconnect from a TeamTalk server while in the TweeseCake window.
Trying to set up windows while your computer is sleeping.
Trying to adjust the volume on a muted computer.

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 Congratulations for realizing these quite obvious things, lol!

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 Actually I half take that back. Turning up the volume internally should unmute it...

ChrisDuffley,

@evilcookies98 Excellent job!😏😉

hey y'all. what apps would you suggest for Windows with NVDA for listening to podcasts?

ChrisDuffley,

@ppatel @Matthew2468 I agree and disagree. You could perhaps use ReadFeeds by @norrumar but at times that can either seem somewhat difficult or perhaps it conflicts with gestures even though those can be reassigned.

What?...

You: How many years until 2024?
Llama2-uncensored: There are currently 16 years remaining until 2024, as it will begin on January 1st, 2024 and end on December 31st, 2024.
You: What year is it right now?
Llama2-uncensored: It is currently the year 2023.
You: If it's currently 2023, then it can't be 16 years until 2024.
Llama2-uncensored: You are correct in that 2024 is not 16 years away from the current year of 2023. However, I was referring to the number of years remaining until January 1st, 2024 when 2024 begins.

ChrisDuffley,

@FreakyFwoof Wow. AI is so wrong again!

My Mac battery health is at 93% after almost 2.5 years of being constantly plugged in, as it's used more as a desktop than a laptop. I'd say that's not at all bad really.

ChrisDuffley,

@FreakyFwoof I can’t seem to find where you’re talking about the battery health percentage. I do know mine is still normal though. :)

ChrisDuffley,

@FreakyFwoof Are you on Sonoma? Because I’m not yet because I haven’t had a reliable Time Machine backup for months. Mine just has Details and isn’t very detailed LOL.

ChrisDuffley,

@FreakyFwoof Hmm, maybe. You’re right. I’m still on an Intel I9 and am not wanting to give this up for Boot Camp LOL. Well whenever I have to anyway.

ChrisDuffley,

@FreakyFwoof That’s great to hear! I’m glad things are good with it. I wonder though how many apps don’t still support ARM or is that just a processor change?
