I’d love to see those all around!

There’s another such portal between the Polish city of Lublin and the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius.

I don’t think there’s a way to disable this in the official launcher. There are many launchers that look and feel pretty similar to the stock one though. I think Lawnchair is the best example. I wouldn’t recommend Nova Launcher (lemmy.ca/post/19914345). You can also just get rid of all the Google bloatware altogether and install GrapheneOS.

it’s the same in Germany. I’m pretty sure it existed well before sprite.

Unfortunately, yes.

For some reason, I used to drink this stuff a few years ago. Now I can’t stand it at all.

Maybe a Linux-native Lemmy app? Or a client for Mastodon? Pixelfed, PeerTube?

Or a GUI for the Rust-based rescrobbled project?

The base version of IntelliJ is FOSS, and they kinda offer perpetual licenses for their paid applications. If you subscribe for an entire year, you get a perpetual fallback license. It’s just a license for an older version of the software, but you get to keep it forever. …jetbrains.com/…/207240845-What-is-a-perpetual-fa…

I also the normal Plasma panel, don’t have any issues with it. They added quite a few Latte Dock features to the normal panel. Your desktop looks great btw!

But find is sloooow. fd is so much faster, because it’s written in Rust and optimized for performance.

I can’t make the background transparent despite selecting the transparent option.

This might happen because of your theme, what Plasma theme do you use? Try the default Breeze theme to see if it fixes the issue.

They also make obtaining games for a reasonable price impossible, so hacking the switch is kinda necessary. And they make playing games with reasonable frame rates impossible, so emulating the Switch on a powerful PC is reasonable.

Tried it, immediately uninstalled it after I saw that it has ads.

Really? We switched away from Reddit because it started forcing everyone to use their crappy, proprietary, ad-infested app, and now we use proprietary, ad-infested Lemmy apps?

Oh yeah I know about tldr. It’s pretty great. I actually use a Rust version of it called teeldeer. I also have a whole lot of “disputable” aliases, for example rtfm for tldr and rtfmp (read the fucking man page) for man. I also use fucking for sudo. There’s nothing better than running pacman -Syu, realizing the mistake and then typing in fucking pacman -Syu

Oh yes there is. ARMv9 MTE, Titan M2 secure element supporting Android Verified Boot, StrongBox (source.android.com/docs/security/…/keystore), Weaver, Hardware key attestation and Insider attack resistance, as well as a programmable USB controller that allows the user to fully disable USB-C (while the device is locked) on a hardware level. Pixels also have hardware support for full Wi-Fi MAC address randomization, and all radios are completely separated from the main system through IOMMU. I recommend this video, it’s a pretty good breakdown of some of the hardware security features + the GrapheneOS privacy/security improvements.

There’s a very detailed article about GrapheneOS banking app compatibility where you can check if your bank’s app works on Graphene: github.com/…/banking-apps-compat-report/

Regarding the camera: Yes, you lost some quality with the default GrapheneOS camera app. But you can easily install the official Google camera app from the Play store (or anonymously through Aurora) to get full quality. You don’t even need Google play services installed for that to work, and you can revoke it’s network access, so it’s completely offline and private. I use the Google camera app all the time, it works flawlessly.

Weird. I never had a single issue with the fingerprint sensor on the 6a, it literally works every time. It’s just a little slow, it could maybe be a little bit faster. But you know what’s a bad fingerprint sensor? Touch ID on older iPhones. That shit is terrible, never works for me.

Oh I never really noticed. Excited to try it out.
