After having switched to the Apple Journal app for an entire month, I’m back to Day One.

I really missed formatting my text, using shortcuts, and the iPad version. Plus, something didn’t feel right about leaving behind so many journal entries on Day One 🥺

My thoughts after using #BlueSky for a day: so far it feels like Twitter—too much, for my taste.

I welcomed and embraced Mastodon as a new thing, rather than making it a Twitter replacement. Considering that, something that reminiscences Twitter feels like a step backwards for me.

But it’s not just the product itself I’m talking about, it’s also the people… I already came across all sort of dark jokes about the submarine 🫣

Man, screw algorithmic timelines.

I saw a really interesting video on LinkedIn. I left my phone unlocked and went to the next room to show it to my GF. Accidentally, I pulled to refresh and now the video is gone. No way to retrieve it or to undo the refresh.

Perhaps I’m too used to Mastodon (and Tweetbot before), but algorithmic timelines are evil 😣

My wishlist for #WWDC23:

  • Ability to reorder lock screens: it’s driving me crazy that I can reorder Watch faces but not lock screens on my iPhone.
  • Multiple lock screens on iPadOS: a natural transition.
  • Clipboard history support: long overdue.
  • Give HomeKit some love: I shouldn’t have to use third party apps to do basic stuff.
  • Customizable Music App: Let me get rid of sections I don’t use, and replace them with handy ones I use every day.
  • Make Siri x3 times smarter: no comments 😅

How are we feeling about #BlueSky? Personally, I’m happy to stay on Mastodon, where I feel comfortable and connected with the community.

I’m impressed people seem to have forgotten that Jack Dorsey actually thought that Elmo was good for Twitter. So while I see what happened as a good thing (we wouldn’t be here otherwise) I think I can’t possibly get excited about anything Jack does now.

That said, I’m curious so I’m on the waitlist, but feeling no hype at all.
