Later Astrosmash stages add UFOs that shoot at you and smart bombs that home in on you, but the biggest leap in difficulty comes at 20k points when the color scheme turns painfully bad. #retroGaming
Just as bad is how slowly Astrosmash's difficulty ramps up. Things are achingly slow until you hit 30k to 40k points, at which point they start to get hectic. And fun!
I played until around 40k when the color failed to change and I realized I'd be stuck with that cyan for another 10 minutes until I hit 50k points at the very least. #retroGaming#intellivision
Astrosmash is not a bad game, though. Kind of like Asteroids and Space Invaders had a baby. You need to shoot these bombs before they hit the ground (killing you) while dodging or shooting meteors. #retroGaming#intellivision
Someone did fork the project, but it ran a lot slower than before due to issues with some of the libraries.
So for a Friday night project I might finally port over all my DOS stuff to DOSBox (or whatever’s the best DOS emulator these days on the Mac… or maybe I should just make a VM?)
Will be going live on #Twitch an hour after #TheLastDriveIn ends I will be continuing my playthrough of #EchoNight for the #PS1 I'm a #Smallstreamer so please boost this post and raids are greatly appreciated.
