#NowPlaying - a new discovery today, GRAVE INFESTATION from Vancouver. It's some pretty great and dynamic death metal. Digging the sound of this. This is their debut record from 2022.
I first met my friend Mike years ago when I lived in Maryland and he was the new bass player for my friends' band Active Sac. He was a great bass player then, and he's a killer regular guitarist too. He's now the guitar player in EXCELLENT new band Spit in the Wind, who put out their first 3 song demo just last month.
I love the sound of this- it's garage punk and kind of sounds like Black Flag meets Social D? Wild stuff.
I talked a lot about Moar last year, the garage band Rafael Valles Hilario does with friends. Rafael has another project called Tuff Guac that's similar, but he sang & played everything himself on this second Tuff Guac album 'Swanky Love' that came out today.
I forget who all liked Moar last year, but if you did, you'll like this. I dig everything Rafael makes. 💥
Something's in the water in Australia that makes great rock and roll. PLEASANTS is the new solo effort of Al Uminium (Dennis Cometti, Aborted Tortoises, Ghoulies) and it's catchy, rough, raw, fun, and synthy.
If you're into catchy garage synth punk-ish stuff, you're gonna dig. Even has some kinda 60s garage feel or 70s punk feel to it sometimes.
Recommended, and might be a contender for my favorite albums of 2024.
Airlock is a sci-fi themed song set in the Space Pop universe. It’s the first song I released this year, and the first song I had released after having a break for two years or so.
Anyway, I don’t think you’ve heard it yet. Wanna give it a listen?
Okay, I have an early slab of death metal before Thursday.
Any of y'all into TERATOMA from Germany? Their debut full-length 'Purulent Manifestations' came out in 2021 and it SMOKES. Even some wild soloing in there. Crushing and heavy. It's a ride. I have it #NowPlaying.
I recently made some big upgrades to my home studio and thought I'd share some of them. #1 is a new desk with a KEYBOARD DRAWER. 😭 (Those are tears of joy.)
New, awesome discovery for #MusicWomenWednesday this week. They're called total wife, from Nashville, Tennessee, and they remind me of Poster Children, that dog, Sonic Youth, and even Portishead. It's fantastic. Shoegazey and catchy and spacey - wow. Really dig luna kupper's voice.
This is their album from 2017 I have #NowPlaying but they have stuff from before it and newer stuff, that's up next.
It's after 10pm here on a Saturday night, and my music-finding post is finally done and posted! ⚡
I know we all find music in different ways, and I wanted to write a bit on it. These are my methods and tools. Comment away on your own methods and tools-- I'd love to see everyone else's process, too!
