He's between 4.5 and 5 years old, so some weight loss is normal. He was 1200gm at his heaviest, and is 870gm now.
He's still active, still eating his vegetables and pellets, but doesn't seem to be eating his hay any more (or isn't as obsessed with it as he usually is).
I'm going to call the vet on Monday and see if I can get him looked at.. just in case it's a dental problem or something like that - although I would expect him to also be off his pellets and the harder veg (carrots etc) if it was.
I've also tried him with crit care supplement feed, but he's completely uninterested. I hollowed out some baby cucumber and spooned it inside to try and trick him, and he just ate the cuke from around the outside of the crit care - he's a sneaky little guy.
Aside from syringing it into him, I'm not sure what else to do.. and I don't want to stress him by syringe feeding him.
🚨🐰 Skye and I just realized the UK is (very) roughly shaped like a #Rabbit! (Forgive BunMum’s crudely drawn lines)
We’re pretty sure we aren’t the only ones who have noticed this. Maybe we missed that lesson in Geography or it’s such common knowledge we’d never seen it mentioned before?
Perhaps the effects of BunMum’s stressful wheek have just caught up with her, but she’s pretty sure Ireland is an angel #GuineaPig with wings keeping the rabbit company.
