I don't think I have ever done an #introduction, and since I've moved from Mastodon.au over to my own instance, I thought why not now.
I work in IT supporting small and medium size businesses across Australia.
I live in the inner north of #canberra love public transport, and I am part of Living Streets Canberra, which advocates for better walking infrastructure.
I do play video games, and am a huge fan of Sonic. I also take photos.
So this guy, who fabricated evidence against an indigenous football player is well enough to work, albeit in a 'non-operational' role but not well enough to attend court?
It’s good to be old, even elderly. But it’s downright dangerous to be inattentive and driving a car, sailing through a light that had been red for some time and a walk signal that had been green for about 5 seconds. No change in speed. I pointed straight at the driver as they passed but they didn’t notice that either. #activeTravel#Canberra
Hello. My favourite season has arrived and I'm looking forward to Canberra looking magnificent in full autumn splendour. And with luck, a few new photos to share.
Here's a favourite from the tail end of autumn last year.
As someone who's being doing a lot of reading about the early history of #Canberra particularly since it was selected as the national capital, I find it fascinating to watch a similar process happening not too far away in real time
I took this image last December, with the house surrounded by fencing and next to a block that had already been cleared.
The house is gone now. It didn't quite make it to 100 years....
This George Street tram is useful, but IMO the CBD stops are too far apart. It's a fair walk if you happen to be halfway between some stops (eg QVB and Wynyard). #Sydney#Trams#Tram
@timrichards related is this article from Tuesday about the journey Canberra's tram might take through the parliamentary triangle if it ever gets built.
the fact that this stop, currently a busy bus stop, wasn't already in the plan is extraordinary. there was a similar snafu on the first stage of the tram where they left out a stop for which there was self-evident demand, and had to go back and build it immediately after the thing opened, at enormous additional expense
If you’re based in #Canberra and interested in portrayals of #science in different #genres and times, the NFSA’s “Science. Art. Film.” nights are back for 2024!! 🤩🤩 The series is hosted by Dr Anna-Sophie Jürgens, who brings so much enthusiasm and knowledge to these events. And the guest panellists are always incredible, as are the #movies chosen 🎥🍿 It’s also FREE! The first one is on Feb 28th and screening Spielberg’s #Jaws 🦈🛥️
