Dzisiejsza dostawa #yerbamate - pierwszy raz mam te mieszanki - zazwyczaj zamawiałem "klasyczne" w sensie Amandy, Taragui, Cruz de Malty, CBSe czy inne takie Indegi i Kurupi (nie, że same "czyste", bo również z dodatkami smakowymi typu zioła czy owoce [a raczej ich aromaty]), ale z tych verde czy mate green mam pierwszy raz - i powiem, że jestem naprawdę zadowolony (przynajmniej na tę chwilę, bo pierwszą otworzyłem) - Verde Mate Energia Guarana - pachnie cudownie, smak delikatny, nie ma tej klasycznej goryczki, po prostu pyszka :)

#YerbaMate lesson learned:
You can maintain something of a montañita with coarse-cut (Argentinian-style) yerba, but you really have to refill a very small amount of water at a time, otherwise the buoyancy will cause the montañita to collapse and you get a mega-strong draw.
The taste takes getting used to ("Mmm, grassy!"), but the uplift is gentler & sustained and the let-down is like being put to bed by your grandma when you were 7 vs. coffee/energy drinks' Hulk Hogan slamming you onto a concrete floor.
And I'm a longtime tea drinker. Tea hardly helps at all anymore; that's how I know yerba is definitely doing something.
Today in Labor History February 20, 1931: An anarchist uprising in Encarnación, Paraguay briefly transformed the city into the revolutionary Encarnación Commune. Students and workers created popular assemblies to run the city. They tried to create communes in other towns, too, but the authorities thwarted their attempts. When the authorities began to retake Encarnacion, many of the insurrectionists stole steamboats and fled to Brazil. Along the way, they attacked yerba mate companies and burned records related to indentured servants. Gabriel Casaccia alluded to the uprising in his novel “Los Herederos.”
I think I'll start with a mild Argentinian yerba and mild steeping temperatures (I've heard 140 °F is good for beginners), but I'll switch to tereré if that's still too bitter.

I really like the malty, fresh taste of Yacuy! And today I wanted to mix it with Pampa Organica. And then the powdered moringa leaf caught my attention. I like adding yuyos (different herbs) in with my mate. It's such a great way to get all those beneficial plant compounds.

Yesterday was a good day. Thanks to some amazing local market stall holders who hail from Buenos Aires, I was able to try (yerba) mate, and I get why Argentinians and Uruguayans enjoy it so much!
I followed it up with an afternoon of board games with @supakaity and folks at my local gaming store, and discovered jalapeno lemonade while I was playing! Until this point, it wasn't something I knew I needed in my life, but wow, it was amazing too!
Good Morning! Yacuy, Pampa Organica, and Moringa Leaf Today
