We’re at 2/11 operatives complete and just waiting to be based - I am going to be good and hold off and do that all in a batch even though all my instincts say to just do it now, and inevitably forget how I did it 😂.
I'm getting "your work looks like Masters of the Universe" so often that I'm going out of my way to make this guy who HAS A SKULL FOR A HEAD not look like Skeletor.
Its been a tough week emotionally, and I'm struggling with painting motivation. But I've started editing a video for Saturday, my starter set challenge. 4 paints, a starter brush and no wet pallette. Hopefully it will be released the same day that the new starter sets come out.
Spent today working out a scheme for quickly painting up all the Tyranids from the Leviathan box. I'm happy with how this once came out, now to paint all the rest of them
RE that last boost of @mr_whateley. It’s something all of us on warhammer.social should be thinking about an maybe a bit uneasy with.
Would be great to get something of a steer from @ianob but to be fair to him, he was pretty clear he hadn’t the time to manage things here, so it’s sorta on us for staying.
Might need to think about what server to move to which I’m sentimentally reluctant about 😂
Seriously, their society sounds so overtly positive in the face of a preposterously hopeless and uncaring universe, there's no way even the codex is telling the truth....
I must have knocked her over by accident because at some point her judgemental finger fell off. Time to check the bits for a spare Necron finger to replace it with. I'm pleased with the clothing, need to shade and layer the face and the door she is standing on feels like it could use some rust.
I have an arbitrary goal of wanting to hit 52 minis of any given faction I am working on. With the Leviathan ones I ended up at exactly 51 Primaris Blood Angels so I grabbed this guy to hit my goal!
I am finding myself thinking about the starter-starter set for #40K that was revealed on #WarhammerCommunity and I just love it as a product. It’s just a very concise introduction to the hobby. And for the curious returning the wee palette of 5 paints look like you could go nuts blending up base and highlight colours. I feel like it’s almost a hobby challenge in itself. Love it.
Today I painted up an Imperial Guardsman in the style of the Mobile Infantry from Starship Troopers. Two great satirical universes becoming one. "Service Guarantees Citizenship"
Can't beat some good old classic Warhammer product photography. There's so much great stuff hidden away in vintage magazine PDFs, never to be rediscovered
I swear I’m not just screaming #Mordheim at you because I want to, swear @erikcats made me do it… that and I want to scream Mordheim at you. #FacesOfMordheim 1/7
The Brothers of the Green Handkerchief. As nice a mob of religious zealots as you’re ever going to meet - including some situably badly named characters including Captain Heinehienicksoon Von Karmle Glassen Auge and his three dugs, Duggle, Gruffe, and Wafver Wafve.
A truly retro painting job today. I painted up this classic 2nd edition 40K Gretchin using everyone's most nostalgic colours. Paint quality may have moved on over the years, but there is a real joy to using these paints.
Tau don't belong here.
