@kubikpixel @fdroidorg Ja, Fdroid finde ich auch nützlich. Wenn die Privatsphäre oberstes Gebot ist, mache ich jedoch ein grundsätzliches Fragezeichen zu Android. Ich würde dann wohl auf #UbuntuTouch o.ä. setzen – auch wenns kein reines Vergnügen sein soll.

Seems google/apple's push notifications services are regularly queried by state authorities for obtaining user data -- see this german #netzpolitik article https://netzpolitik.org/2023/push-dienste-behoerden-fragen-apple-und-google-nach-nutzern-von-messenger-apps/ --
#deltachat only uses apple's push notifications on iOS for "heartbeat" services -- to ensure the app can show messages for their user (and many users are asking for tighter integration). On Android, Desktop and #ubuntutouch platforms no push notifications are used or needed, also no heartbeat ones.

Why are they not needed? I'm convinced they are a useful feature that saves battery life. I don't see the problems with heartbeat pushes.

One thing I love about #UBports's Click apps is that they are really easy to run without being a Click. I was expecting to have to add a bunch of random patches to decouple them from Click, but with a compile-time flag they are stand-alone apps!

I know that not everyone in Linux was happy about Snapcraft appearing (no need to rehash that one 😏 )

But now I'm very much looking forward to kicking the tires on that one. This could bring Ubuntu Touch devices to another level. Very excited!
