A Freeguild Marshal with a random helmet (Victoria Minis, I think) a good sized demon skull, and a holstered shotgun from the Arbites. Just a few changes tweaks the era just enough.
First game of #TrenchCrusade! Absolutely loved it — a very close game (partly because at one point I forgot that holding objectives was a thing), a really great set of rules even while playtesting. Can’t wait to play again 🖤
More #TrenchCrusade thoughts from first playtest game (apologies, I decided to only take terrible pictures):
Really like the core mechanics, even at a playtest stage. The action economy (take as many actions as you want but if you fail a risky action, the activation ends) is really tactically interesting, and leads to some interesting decisions / trade-offs.
Blood tokens are also really nice – even long range harrying shots that stand little chance of doing real damage (for example, low level infantry left back holding home objectives taking potshots at an enemy elite) end up not feeling pointless or wasted, since they're stacking future woe on that character that one of your heavy hitters can take advantage of later.
My Heretics were great! Hadn't realised ahead of time how useful the forced movement abilities (Priest, Artillery Witch) would be for pushing enemies off objectives / into bad terrain / out of combat (with forced opportunity attacks...)
Steelhelm body with GSC shotgun and Stormcast helm. I originally thought two pauldrons would be too much, now one looks like too little. Maybe if it were on the leading arm it would be better? I may need to add some metallics to show chipping on the helm and pauldron still.
Bit of green accent to use these guys for Eire Rangers once there is a whole group of them.
Back on the #TrenchCrusade this weekend, planning to finally get a game in this week. Currently trying to get a bit more confident with #GreenStuff and sculpting tools, which are pretty new to me!
(Mostly) finished the yeomen for my first #TrenchCrusade warband. Pretty happy with how they came out – although feeling guilty I have let my #FediPaint stuff completely slide in the meantime...
