Kennt da jemand was?
Effectively planning and managing a complicated life can be made easier and less stressful if you adopt approaches like Kanban and Getting Things Done.
For about a year I used #Trello to manage my tasks/todo list. I had a customized workflow which included notifications sent to Slack along with some automations and other stuff that moved tasks around in lists (from inbox to completed and potentially back again if I undeleted them) and it worked exceedingly well for quick task entry and the like. In particular I loved how I could just say "call x tomorrow at 4pm" and it would do natural language date parsing and set a reminder for the time I wrote in the subject.
Now I'm between jobs and a lot of the automation in that todo list needs to be removed/changed/retired/whatever - I don't use Slack anymore, wrong email address for notifications and so on. So while the "under construction" tape is across Trello I'm temporarily using #TickTick as a todo list and it's actually really, really good. I honestly don't know if I need to return to Trello given that TT is so simple and useful for what I need right now (ie non-biz).
Listen. Just for those Apple app authors crowing about how exciting #iOS17 is and how they’re starting to code for that. Even #iOS16. Just understand that iPad Air 2’s, and god knows how many other “legacy” devices that actually still work perfectly fine, CANNOT be updated beyond 15.7.9. I have my Air 2 open and on a stand with #Trello right now, and THANKFULLY #MonaApp also still runs on it as do many of the other apps I use. But please, PLEASE - especially if your app just does text or checkboxes or notifications, right - because you’ve been able to manipulate that stuff since iOS1 or so - PLEASE don’t make your app depend on minimum iOS16 or 17. Mona didn’t. Follow their lead.
People on older devices don’t give a toss “what percentage of Apple users as a whole are using iOSx”. Believe it. The Air2 works fine, as does my iPhone13 Pro on 15.4.1.
I regularly post questions of the day on a variety of subjects (thank you #neurodivergent#brain) but I'm making this one a question of the year bc it is that fundamental to my success as a person.
The reward for contributing meaningful (or humorous) answers to this question will be my sincere appreciation (valued at $0.02 USD).
THE QUESTION:
How can I seamlessly integrate a "lite" tool that operates across platforms (Windows, Linux, Android atm) into my second
When on a computer I oftentimes find myself falling back to a simple text editor (#Notepad++ on Windows), but I eventually end up moving this data into another system.
#geeks anyone know of some example code for screen-scraping #trello ?
adding a "Power Up" isn't an option in my use case and they don't have a reasonable API for users so ... screen scraping, but calling the url of a "card" with your cookie doesn't actually get you the content of the card. ARGH
I can figure this out, but i'd rather not reinvent the wheel if i don't have to.
Does anybody have any suggestions for an #opensource#selfhosted#kanban platform that is not based on #postgresql with a preference for #sqlite or something like that. Ideally, I want to be able to just launch one container and have it up and going. I am starting to reconsider if #Podman was really the right choice over #Docker for my #production instances, because otherwise I'd happily just be loading up #compose files. #programming#taskmanagement#trello
I think the reason i hate #Trello so much is that its primary interaction method requires horizontal scrolling which is absolute crap for everyone who doesn't use a trackpad.
Scroll-wheels don't move sideways
apple hides scroll bars all the effing time
when shown, scroll bars are very small mousing targets (didn't used to be in the old days)
I was all excite because I decided to embrace #Trello. I loved the automations. I spent a long while setting it up....And then this morning....I got struck with the notification stating I've already used 80% of my automation quota. I'm not paying $116 for that. Guess I'm going back to self-hosting either #Wekan or #Vikunja
I've been using Trello for more than 5 years to collect my thoughts, excerpts, and notes to finally realize that I'm pretty locked in. It took me one weekend and some Python to create a workflow to migrate all my boards, including attachments to Obsidian … If you're stuck too, let me know via pm, and I'm glad to share my experiences … #obsidian#trello#research
#geeks who've played with #Trello API: Am I right in thinking there's no way to just extract data from trello without creating a Power Up which would have to be installed by an admin of your group?
I just want to suck out the tasks assigned to me and stick them on a dashboard.
I feel like my only realistic option is giving a bot my cookie and screen scraping.
