Art Not Ads are a group of #SanFrancisco artists who paste collage art on walls that are usually covered with obnoxious ads. Their favorite "gallery" are the walls on the old Big Lots store (3333 Mission). I've really enjoyed seeing their art in the neighborhood over the years, and I was glad to finally meet them in person today. Good vibes! #SFGraffiti#Collage#Wheatpaste#ArtNotAds
The wall at 3333 Mission Street is often covered with political ads or ads for major label musicians, but sometimes you can find awesome collage art by #ArtNotAds. #SFGraffiti.
Murals from the corner of 18th and Mission in #SanFrancisco. These were painted on Saturday, May 11th as part of the Mission art walk. I believe they were sponsored by Ape_SF. #SFGraffiti#Murals#Graffiti
I've been noticing a lot of stickers with AI generated content in #SanFrancisco lately. Most of them seem to have AI-generated visuals in the background and some cool-looking text placed on top. A few say "Hairglasses", others have phrases like "Become wicker" or "Rusty Hoe, bear that load.". #SFGraffiti#Graffiti
#BruceHallman is a #SanFrancisco street artist and sculptor most known for making these iconic clay faces. His work can often be found glued under bike racks in the Mission. See much more of his work (not just bike racks and faces) here instagram.com/brucehallman #SFGraffiti#graffiti#sculpture
Reggie Warlock is one busy dude. I've been seeing his "Love Monster" character all over the city lately, especially in the Mission. #SFGraffiti#ReggieWarlock
I'm a sucker for weird and esoteric tags, like these word squares someone has been writing in our neighborhood lately. Each square is a type of acrostic that can be read horizontally or vertically. For example:
Some tags and pieces by Guez (aka Guez, Guebr), a local artist most known for his grumpy bulldog character. Except for the spikes on the collar, the line art for these pieces is mostly done in one long, continuous line. These photos are from various places in SF over the past year, but I've seen Guezr's pieces all around the Bay Area since at least 2021. #Guebr#SFGraffiti#Graffiti#StreetArt#Bulldog#Guez#Guezr#Toofy#SigFig
“Maybe Later”, a local artist and graffiti writer, gave me a padlock they had painted with their unique color palette. They had lost the key, so I picked the lock and have been hanging it on different fences around the neighborhood. #MaybeLater#SFGraffiti#graffiti
Today I learned that the music video for 4 Non Blonde's "What's Up?" was filmed in #SanFrancisco and has two short scenes of a person playing with a #yoyo in front of #SFGraffiti by the legendary Barry McGee (aka TWIST).
