First desktopy #RISCV computer I've seen... https://www.crowdsupply.com/milkv/milk-v-pioneer Could be very cool, depending on the price...

The #SiFive #RISCV support improves quickly! Now there's EDKII which provides standard UEFI support for booting! That's orders of magnitude handier than uboot! https://forum.rvspace.org/t/unlocking-new-possibilities-starfive-visionfive-2-sbc-now-supports-tianocore-edk-ii-uefi/2779

I now have a #Star64 board, a board which uses a RISC-V #RISCV processor, a processor whose instruction set is free (free as in free speech, not free as in free beer). Let's see the first boot. https://www.bortzmeyer.org/star64-first-boot.html

If you wanted to protect a high availability #kubernetes or similar #cluster #webserver #server from #hacking, would it be advantageous and possible to use sufficiently different #Linux versions for each #node so that not all nodes have the same #vulnerabilities. Which Linux versions would be most different & so most unlikely to suffer the same vulnerabilities or #vulnerability yet work together somehow? Would using a #riscv node with an #arm node & an #intel node offer any #security advantages?

Finally built a Guix image for visionfive2. 1 Gbit eth0 doesn't work yet and only half of the memory is detected, but it's already possible to write it to a flash drive and get a working system.

halfey, to intel

Can someone summarize this article for me? Sorry, my English is quite limited but if I'm reading it right, it sounds like Intel has pulled the plug on one of its RISC-V projects. Could this also mean it has abandoned RISC-V development altogether? I mean what is the point for Intel to keep developing RISC-V internally if it no longer provides the developer tool? I hope this is not a repeat of the short-lived Intel-x86Android project. #RISCV #Intel #tech
