Just found out that the theme of this week's #VGMWednesday is #RightInTheFeels and there is only one song I could pick for this
"Kimi No Kioku" (Memories of You) the end credits song from Persona 3
I mean, this song was already special to me, but the day my mum died just over 3 weeks ago I listened to this on repeat for about an hour crying my eyes out
The theme for #VGMWednesday by @miona is #RightInTheFeels . I'm going with the ending song from Mass Effect 1. ME1 is a game I play through again every 2-3 years, just to remember how good it is. That scene when it seems like Sovreign is going to destroy the citadel, and then the humans warp in with guns blazing to turn the tide of the battle...that was a moment that really got to me.
"Departure" from TLoZ: Wind Waker is making me tear up, because it's meant to herald the beginning of a grandiose adventure, but it's marred by the abduction of Link's sister and his having to leave his grandmother alone for the first time. A particularly bittersweet scene in a game that's full of bittersweet scenes.
Take some Nier to pull your heartstrings.
I'm glad I got emil tattooed on my body, because this game really pulled my heartstrings in the best possible way.
Since the #VGMWednesday theme is #RightInTheFeels , my pick for this theme is 'The Price of Freedom' from Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII.
This song perfectly match the gut-wrenching story of the game... And Zack Fair :blobcatmeltcry:
Honorable mention: I've been listening to this gem and put it on repeat. It's so beautiful and also #RightInTheFeels . I don't play #HonkaiImpact3rd , but this... :blobMeltSobLove:
If you know you know. I won't provide context, as those songs really mean a lot, but I encourage everyone to discover these games on their own in their own way.
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is a stunning piece of art. In the game you explore an abandoned English village, empty except for the occasional echoes of the people who lived there, their stories playing out as you unravel the mystery. The haunting soundtrack by Jessica Curry adds a huge amount to the atmosphere of melancholy and loss.
For #VGMWednesday on the #RightInTheFeels theme I'm going with Akira Yamaoka's timeless 'Promise' from #SilentHill 2... Kind of thought of a few options, but kept coming back to this @miona
Apparently there's a new music hashtag #VGMWednesday making the rounds 😗... well, at least it's new to me. There's even a topic connected to it: #RightInTheFeels (VGM that makes you emotional)...
...now, I understand that "makes you emotional" usually alludes to a specific set of emotions and that the following may not fit in a traditional sense - but it sure gives me the feels, even if it's almost just a jingle ->
Lost Woods by Koji Kondo (Ocarina of time) ♥️ I have a personal attachment to this game, both bad and good. That's why I play it once a year, for an emotional journey :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
