I'm experimenting with a new Preferences dialog for my app. These are never easy to make and are usually hard to navigate due to the volume of labels and buttons.

I'm testing out putting all the setting on a long page with navigation buttons. This replaces the traditional tabbed layout the app currently uses.

It is still an information overload. Maybe I can also make the content searchable?

Old dell servers are often cheaper and more powerful than devices sold as NAS systems!

Buy a USB 3 PCIe card and you can attach all your cheap USB SATA mass storage to it or fill it with SSD drives or both.

If you are confused about micro versus small reactors, here is something to remember:

A micro reactor is enough to heat and power a mining town in the artic circle and doesn't require operators. Sometimes people think of these as nuclear batteries because you never open them.

Small reactors are most often used in submarines and aircraft carriers. They can be opened and refueled and can power small cities.

• Rich privacy and security options (have a bunch in flight).
• Rich one time setup experience.
• Impeller on Android (drastic performance improvement)
• Improving the explore tab with curated and algorithmic account, server, and post recommendations.
• Some basic LLM integrations with on device models.
• Stretch: Low bandwidth mode

I had worried about the longevity / stability of #firefish when I briefly switched over to it from Mastodon.

Those worries were why I eventually switched back.

And it sounds like my worries were grounded in reality. It's hard to expect someone who's basically a kid to keep up with a project like that.

The features page was a lot of fun to build.

Every element is the real element composed from mock/dummy data (or real data if you're logged in), so it should stay up to date if I ever make minor UI tweaks.

Marketing pages don't always need to be entirely different tech stacks of screenshots.

More people should have the experience of using actual hardware terminals.

We should bring those back! It would likely cut costs for schools and remove distractions in classes too. 😉

(Really, modern electronics and protocols could make using a terminal at least as convenient as using a TV for streaming.)
