Much of the #NHScriris, as I have often said, is an engineered programme to 'encourage' us to use private #healthcare.
That said, we should not be blind to the shortcomings (especially around women's health) that stem from other structural issues... so while the defunding of the NHS may in part contribute to the background of the appalling treatment of women with #endometriosis, equally we need to recognise this as separate issue that needs urgent attention!
Although with cases only currently in their 1000s, there has been a significant rises in cases of #whoopingcough in the UK, having almost doubled in the last year.
This likely reflects issues around #vaccination 'resistance' & a lack of access to shots during lockdowns, reducing the general levels of immunity.
In itself this may not be a major #health issue, but when put beside other developments & the #NHScriris, it suggests that some established gains in #publichealth may be threatened.
I'm not entirely surprised that in polling for Healthwatch England, while 28% of those polled said they'd used private #healthcare in the past year, 14% (that's half of them) had been advised to do so by #NHS professionals.
Around a third were advised to go private as #waitinglists were long, or they'd get better quality care, while just under a quarter required treatment no longer available via the NHS.
The #Tories two-tier system is firmly established fed by the #NHScriris they engineered!
