1st class passengers on this #LNER 🇬🇧 #InterCity225 service get a delicious meal served at their seat.
And, with the help of almost the entire on-board crew 😉, I managed to locate the trackside “Mallard Speed Record Sign”. I saw the locomotive earlier in the museum.
Most long-distance services on the East Coast Main Line #ECML 🇬🇧 from #London King’s Cross are being worked by #LNER#Azuma trainsets. Today’s 1703 service to #Leeds however saw an #InterCity225 leaving from platform 2, hauled by a class 91 electric - 91107 “Skyfall”.
And yes, I know, pltf. 2 not the most famous one here at #KGX.
One thing I miss from the other place is the thriving UK rail and trains community. Does anyone know any good accounts to follow on here? I've tried all these hashtags - #RailMastodon#TrainMastodon#Rail#Trains#LNER#Scotrail
but they don't have any traction (sorry 🙄)
And would be nice if the train companies had a social media presence here, that's the main reason I have to keep my tw*tterx account.
#LNER have decided to give me the #deutschebahn experience, and we are now running 14 minutes late. At least you get a meal included with First Class[*] fares here. And beer, but not as good as in Germany.
[* It’s a long journey, and I got an Advance ticket so it only cost one kidney]
And off we go, Scotland to Austria, via train, and with the floof monster tagging along to boot! Normally doable in 2 days of travel, but due to #Eurostar hating dogs it will take 3 days
The thing I love about travelling on #LNER#Trains is the seat maps so I can check where my seat is before travelling.
Requested priority seating since walking is a problem....my journey to Edinburgh is not a priority seat, grrrr. No matter, at least I still know where my seat is so I hopefully don't stress too much on the train.
