The biggest thing that gets me about this #LinusMediaGroup thing is how bad must the working conditions be where someone felt they needed to record an HR meeting the day after Madison left. Seriously. The person who recorded this meeting must have known SOMETHING about Madison and her situation, or was experiencing the same.
In all my years of working for companies big and small, I have never felt the need to secretly record any meeting, let alone an HR meeting.
You know what else I haven't felt the need to do? Tell an inappropriate joke after an HR meeting.
Today was the first time that I opened up my list of YT subscriptions and cleaned it up.
There's a lot of nostalgic stuff there from the times when subscriptions actually affected my feed as a viewer that I left alone, but I did spot the likes of the 8 Bit Guy, Bryan Lunduke and such that I promptly kicked off my list along with the #LMG channels.
In my opinion, LTT has always been more about entertainment than education. Labs be damned. #GamersNexus is doing some really great work and taking a huge risk by stepping on this limb to call #LTT and #LMG out on their bullshit.
This is tough… #LinusTechTips really fucked up, their trustworthiness basically went straight out of the window now. And the fact they literally SOLD A PROTOTYPE they have promised to send back to a company they badly roasted beforehand is just inexcusable.
I usually don't post many tech channel videos but since there are quite a few #LTT fans on here, this might be interesting to some (even though maybe hard to watch).
@matzekult If it were my #Prototype that #LTT basically stole and resold, I'd basically press charges for theft at the police and name him as primary suspect.
Pretty shure #Lienus doesn't appreciate being summoned by police if not have RCMP search his place and question staff of #LMG...
After all, that engineering protoype will be at least 6 if not 7 figures and it's not as if he wasn't instructed to return it to the manufacturer...
I’ve just watched the first(?) on-camera appearance of Emily Young after announcing her transition. I’m a #Floatplane subscriber, so I’m watching it there (https://www.floatplane.com/post/yF5fDqJbi3), and while there are lots of positive comments, there’s also deadnaming, “he’s a man”, “this is mental illness” etc. in the comments, and Floatplane doesn’t even have a “report” button. The YouTube comments (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6Gi2LcXhxM) look less vile, to be honest.
(Non-)Update: I haven’t heard back anything from #Floatplane or #LMG. I won’t be awake during tonight’s #WANShow (because I’m living in the EU timezone), else I’d bring up the topic during the show via a merch message. I’d buy a gift card at LTTStore just for being able to send the message into the show and then give it to a random US or Canadian #trans person on the fedi or something.
