Let's dive into Japanese mythology for this #MythologyMonday spotlight on dance! 🌟 Meet Ame-no-Uzume, the spirited kami known for her enchanting dance. Legend has it she danced to coax the sun goddess Amaterasu out of hiding, bringing light back to the world. 🌞 Dance has always held a powerful role in mythology, bridging worlds and inspiring gods and mortals alike! #JapaneseMythology

Homework is to read some different versions of The Peony Lantern.

After all my novel does take inspiration from it.

Even my MC can detect the echoes of that story.

#WordWeavers #Writing 17 Is there a story you’d like to write but aren’t sure you can?

My success rate with straight adventure, cyberpunk, and Steam Punk have not turned out well. I'm not dying to write them. But sometime day I would like to try my hand at a Steam Punk Romance.

But...

An epic classic seems beyond my reach, and I would love to write one of those.

2/2

Because I always worry, generally my next novel -- will I run dry?

I am playing with the idea of doing something around the story of Princess Takyasha tentatively titled

滝夜叉姫を待つ
Waiting for Princess Takiyasha

I will be a bit different than what I have done, so that worries me too, can I come up with a good plot?

12.27 — If you write in more than one genre, which is your go-to?

My def go-to is except for a few micro or flash pieces everything deals with the relationship between one or more women.

(For anyone who might not know yuri is a sub-genre of / that incorporates Japanese tropes rather than Western ones.)

I blend my yuri with varying degrees with:

While I no longer try and predict the future, it seems unlikely I will write outside the yuri genre.
