In the distance here sits The St Cross Hospital a monastery and Almshouse for ailing gentleman. It's also my parish church. Not that I'd get over th threshold without being hit by lightning.

For #FensterFreitag this is a window from the 13th century Netley Abbey not too far away from us here in Hampshire. Netley was a Cistercian abbey and it is one of the best preserved examples of its type in the south of England.
Having lived in #Southampton for perhaps far too long, this doesn't surprise me.
The only question is whether Soton does something substantive about it.

Luxuriant growth in a ditch bordering a path through woodland on #SouthamptonCommon, a large area of woodland and grassland north of the city. Orchids are growing amongst taller plants including umbellifers & dock.

Perfect walking weather yesterday in the #NewForest: sunny but not too hot, ~20 C & cool under the trees. Cotton grass & marsh orchids growing in the boggy areas, deer running through the woods, cuckoos calling in the distance, many dragonflies hawking over Eyeworth Pond. Streams & bogs looking dry already
