Our "friendly" neighbourhood sparrowhawk has appeared again, This time on the bird feeder itself. The usual hedge sparrows who feed here are, wisely, nowhere to be found. #Video#garden#GardenBirds#UK#Glasgow
Magpie came enquiring at rhe back door about their breakfast. I had to take out some mealworms to the feeding table, so I gave them a first go. Just look at that beak- maximizing the opportunity!
Happy Bank Holiday Monday #Mastodon (in the #UK at least)
Despite the bad weather this weekend I managed to get out with my new #Panasonic#LumixG9 camera last week and am excited to share with you one of the first photos I’ve taken.
Strangely, I walked with my new #camera to where I had previously encountered a nesting pair but they were no where to be seen. Fortunately, on my way back, I heard their recognisable #bird call from another tree. It was here that I was able to get this photo.
It was shot at ISO3200 which is a value I would go nowhere near with my previous bridge camera but I’m extremely impressed with the G9’s performance. The colours are truly striking and I love how the red face of the goldfinch matches closely to the pinecones of the #tree in the background.
